[EVENT] Be careful what you wish for...

You didn't really think that well was just going to sit there and remain well behaved quiet while the city moved on around it, did you?

Have you ever had an idle desire (wow, I'd really love a sandwich right now) or an argument with a friend in which you wished, just for a moment, that they could really understand how you felt? Both of these things and more besides might become a real possibility as small pockets of the magic supporting the well's existence begin to 'leak' into the surrounding city.

This is intended to be a minor, light-hearted event (because the next one we have lined up is a doozy!), in which small, usually thoughtless wishes (either thought or spoken aloud) will be spontaneously granted with uncertain reliability. The pockets of magic escaping from the well are  not able to work anything on a grand scale, so things that would affect the city itself or people in a major way (ie, conjuring up extra buildings, electricity systems, the return of people who have left, etc in regards to the city, or body/gender/species swapping, death, etc in regards to people) will not be something that can be done, though minor physical/mental modifications and the gaining of items are things which are definitely possible.

Of course, some people are likely to work out what's going on before the problem is finally cleared up. Figuring out what's happening doesn't stop the event from working! However, just as with those not in the know, each random occurrence isn't a guarantee. You can try to get something you want, but it might not work out for you and, of course, not being exact in your wording might lead to some amusing effects.

Each little 'problem' can last as long as you want it to. Maybe just a brief flash of being able to read someone's mind is enough to stop an argument. Maybe that perfect sandwich you really wanted actually lasts as long as it takes to eat it.

Or maybe it doesn't. Who knows?

This event will run from Monday, July 21st to Saturday, July 26th, after which the wishing well will disappear from its location in the city centre and the ruby obelisk will return. Where the well goes is something which is currently being discussed here, though it appears (for now) that it will be moved to a different location, to be announced, to facilitate the continuation of the plot surrounding it at the leisure of the players.

Hey there! How many wishes/accidental wishes do the characters get or is there no limit? Obviously you wouldn't want to abuse it, but just so I know for plotting's sake!

I was thinking of Yuna wishing that she could fly and then turning into Kingdom Hearts Yuna, who is super tiny. Idk if that is too much of a change. Versus she make the wish and just her clothes change and keeping her normal sized?

Would it be possible for Alastor to wish for the sword containing part of his soul/power? This would make a major physical change possible for Alastor, as he's shown in the games to be able to take a different form when he gets a power boost, but the wish itself would just provide him with a very specific item he needs.

But I was wondering would it be possible for some of those photos to be from his future?

I know that wishing for people isn't going to work, but could Eight express a wish that someone was around and end up with a chameleon, if the person he's wishing for is normally a color-changing lizardperson?

WHILE I'M HERE ( also we have electricity at home so i'm sorta back ) bayonetta would idly wish for one thing:

"Mmm, I wish there was a little more... fun in the city. Don't you think?"

so i'm imagining, with this wish, something explosive can happen. angels from her series...? help me decide i just imagine fisticuffs will occur. if there will be angels bayonetta will have to bring everyone ( except angels/demons/gods ) into purgatory to fight them or something.

Jane has been wishing for her equipment for a long, long time.

But because there is not a lot of electricity and I am evil, it's just going to give her random numbers, not print anything out, and generally, just not make sense. They won't even work if she smacks it around.

Let's see, Marlowe mainly wishes for law and order and the good of the people, but I can see this going wrong in various ways, if anyone wants to get caught up in something along those lines.

I can also see him wishing that more people felt the way he did, or would join him on patrol.

I'm open for wishes that affect Marlowe, too.

Loki-player and I have been discussing these two pagan gods wandering Ruby City looking for some action. We were thinking it would be terrible/hilarious to possibly do it during the event.

Would anyone be interested in being their victims interests for the evening? We would be doing it open-post style but we want to know if anyone is interested in that type of shenanigan or not.

I'm down with wishing hijinks on Richter a.k.a Trevor either by his stupid wishes or by someone else's. He'll also be accidentally wishing for the pile of old photos he has at home to hit him in the emotions and make him slightly more vulnerable incase anyone wants to do something with him about that.

For Jamie, his wish to remember something is, in fact, going to get him a memory! Specifically a memory of a foam fight at the seashore that he got into with the Doctor and Victoria. And what better way to really fix that memory in his mind by having a whole whopping lot of sea foam suddenly turn up in his immediate vicinity? If that happens to then turn into another foam fight, well, these things happen.

I'm also open to other shenanigans as well, but if anyone wants to come join in on the fight (or make it worse somehow) they're more than welcome.

As I am incapable of resisting Badge's incredible Ace Attorney suggestions, Maya is going to have a burger wish that gets a bit out of control and may involve the house over-run with burgers.
Being that she's Maya, however, this probably won't discourage her from trying to figure out how to make this wishing stuff work to her advantage.

Saber is going to avoid wishing. Wishing, being such an important part of her life back home, has become kind of a downer for her. Feel free to try and convince her to wish, though-- there was a good idea involving Mordred and Damian before.

Conrad will be wished into wearing suits by Ivy, and I might have him wish for something regarding food or sunlight just to experience it again, idk yet.
