4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.

7. The Forest: Not a great place to be caught alone, but are you alone?

8. Wildcard: Pick anything from our list!


Scenarios

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.

2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

3. Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

[Coincidentally enough, here was a passerby who was, in all appearances, a calm and unassuming priest.]

[Oh, a priest. He's not really sure what to make of that. Must be one of the bad ones. Papa told him that in other places, the church is really just a house of sin anyway. Satan's stirring inside him, perhaps, and he swallows it down as best he can]

Ah... hello Father. I was wondering where the punishment starts?

[hierophantes]

[Kirei blinked once or twice, as though trying to register just what on earth he'd been asked.]

I'm sorry, what? I'm not sure I understand your question.

[papasburden]

[He's wearing what appears to be a templar outfit, and he's extremely earnest, if equally nervous]

You know, the fire and brimstone? The scourges? I'm just a little lost... I've just arrived and I'm not sure where I'm supposed to go.

[hierophantes]

[Trying to get onto the same line of thought as whoever this was, Kirei glanced him over before answering.]

Just arrived...so clarify something for me, just what do you think this place actually is?

[papasburden]

[Burden's voice dropped almost to a whisper, as if the words themselves shouldn't be spoken]

Well, it's hell, isn't it Father? I mean, where else could it be? One minute I was in Coral City, and the next... well, that just doesn't happen.

[hierophantes]

...I really don't think that's the case.

[Honestly, things would probably be a little more straightforward if they were in hell.]

This seems to be something entirely different and far more of an impossibility.

[papasburden]

[He lets out a long breath, cautiously relieved]

You mean, I'm not actually dead? What is going on, then?

[hierophantes]

Not unless I am as well, and I find that unlikely.

[Doesn't really seem to miss a beat, this one.]

If you want a functional understanding of this place, I don't think that I can help you. The general idea is that we're currently trapped in an impossible location from which there is not yet a clear exit.

[papasburden]

[Burden cocks his head thoughtfully, frowning] An impossible location with no escape?

[His eyes glow red, and his face shifts, teeth elongating as his voice deepens to a demonic snarl.] Do you think you can lie to a Pit Lord, little priest?

[hierophantes]

[Goodness, that's something different.]

I told no lie. [Kirei didn't seem to so much as blink; his only real reaction was to fold his arms. Thirteen Black keys, and at close range...this wouldn't be a problem if it came to a fight.] To my knowledge, that is what this place is.

[papasburden]

[The demon snarls, growing more bestial by the moment. A forest of teeth in his mouth, his skin growing a carapace, with a glowing three-pronged firey symbol on his forehead, and tentacles erupting from his chest.]
