November Test Drive!


Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.



Directions:
  • Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
  • Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.
  • If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.

    Locations:

    1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.

    2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?

    3. The Beach: You can almost forget you're trapped, in a place like this...

    4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

    5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

    6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.

    7. The Forest: Not a great place to be caught alone, but are you alone?

    8. Wildcard: Pick anything from our list!


    Scenarios

    1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.

    2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

    3. Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

    4. Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!

    [The embrace should not surprise her, and yet her shoulders stiffen. Her breath hitches and there's a part of Illya - the little girl that loved climbing into her Mother's lap and finding chestnuts with Kitsugu - that wants to cling to her, to cry.

    She fights down her tears, but she does raise her arms to hug Iri.]

    You... You didn't come back. Neither of you came back!

    [Those words and the strain in Illya's voice are like a punch to the gut, and Irisviel's arms tighten guiltily around the girl's tiny frame.]

    I know. I'm sorry, Illya, so sorry... [And, without thinking:] ...Mother won't leave you again.

    [It's a promise she immediately regrets making; after all, Ruby City can choose to send anyone home at any time. The very last thing Iri wants to do is betray her daughter again...

    But the intricacies of this place can be explained later; for now, she just wants bring comfort to the distressed girl.]

    [Illya wants to believer her promise, she really does.]

    You can't promise that.

    [Because they had a duty to carry out. They were both to become the Holy Grail, though seeing her Mother here... Illya pulls away, looking at her mother with an almost suspicious expression.]

    Did you and Kiritsugu come here?

    [A coldness enters Illya's voice. Mother had told her that she wouldn't be coming back, that was true, and it was something she came to understand after the war had ended. Yet here she was.

    Did her parents run away? Did they both just abandon her? But that didn't make sense because Kiritsugu was in Fuyuki and this... Well Illya's not sure where this is.]

    [God, does that look -- that tone -- sting, but Illya has every right to be angry and wary of her mother right now. Slowly, hesitantly, Iri loosens her arms from around the girl to rest her hands ever so lightly on those skinny knees, brows knit with all kinds of remorse.]

    N-No, that isn't...

    [She trails off, knowing she has to explain -- explain Ruby City, explain the Fourth War, explain that even if Kiritsugu didn't come back for her that he still loves her -- but where to even start?

    After a moment, Iri forces a soft, unconvincing smile.]

    Let me sit with you; I'll explain everything. Alright, Illya?

    [The cold expression lasts a few more seconds before it fades away. Illya nibbles her bottom lip, looking at her mother's expression. Then she nods.]

    Alright.

    [Without thinking her hand moves to take hold of her mothers hand, holding onto it like when she was smaller.

    She doesn't want Iri to vanish.]
