[ Raising a brow. ] Do you really believe you have the capacity within you to remove these?

[ Because if she can't, does he really really think that he can? More important than his ability to remove her bindings: ]

You're alive-! [ Why does she sound a bit more disappointed than she should over that?? ]

[ But he feels really bad (or is it guilt?) for her nevertheless knowing that she's like that. ]

Yeah, I'm alive. I should be dead, but this place doesn't care. [ He sounds disappointed too, but there's a part of his voice that's definitely frustrated. ]

[ That's enough to elicit a childish reaction out of her. Kicking at the ground with limited movement, she turns her sharp gaze directly onto his own. ]

How can you sound so upset over being alive-?! I was going to return to Fuyuki City and work on it once the trial was over-!

[ Lifting her arms to shove them towards him. ] Remove these so I can beat some sense into you!

Like I said, Tohsaka, I shouldn't be. Besides, it's not fair if I'm alive and she's not.

[ He won't move from his spot, however, so he'll let her do as she pleases, though he lets out a defeated sigh at her own words. ] Besides, you're the one who already said that I can't remove them, right...? I can go and call someone who probably can if you want me to, though.

[ She clucks her tongue in defiance of his words instaneously. ] What's with that defeatist attitude out of nowhere, Emiya-?!

If I believe you can remove these--[ Yelling at him as she shakes her hands in front of him. ]--then you should place your faith in me, yes! You should believe in me because I believe in you-!

[ She's awfully optimistic for Rin Tohsaka today. ]

... It's because I know what you're going to do to me if I try to take them off now.

[ He takes a step back uncomfortably. He would take off her binds if she wasn't going to hurt him afterwards... ]

Besides, you were the one who said earlier that I wouldn't be able to take them off when I first asked. [ Don't think he doesn't remember, because he's been paying attention. ]

You shouldn't blame me for your inexperience with women. Sometimes we say one thing when we completely intend to say another. [ Or in Rin's case, "sometimes" becomes "all the time", but details... ]

Are you willing to help me or are you going to stand around feeling sorry for yourself?

This has nothing to do with my experience with women. [ He narrows his eyes in defiance, as if to stay that she should have been honest to begin with... ]

[ Because he's going to attempt to rip it off-- okay, no, he'll be smart for once and attempt to find out the composition in her bindings and hopefully find a weak spot in them.

(It's one of the only things he's good at, after all.) ]

[ There's something about them that repels the magical energy of most spells, but only through the eyes of an ordinary magus. Someone like Rin might not be able to see a flaw because of the way she was raised, whereas someone who was raised by a parent more than a teacher may be able to.

She waits patiently, though a bit fidgety at having him stand this close. At least it's a good chance to look him over, to study his features and to find out what's wrong with him this time. ]

[ It takes some time and concentration as his fingers run across her bindings, trying his best not to flinch as he feels the magical energy coming off of the bindings.

He's pretty certain he knows what to do from here, keeping his concentration on the bindings itself rather than Tohsaka -- in fact, he's kind of worried that if he looked up at her now, he'd probably get slapped, or possibly even worse.

It's obvious that he's trying to concentrate as hard as he can for more reason than one. He doesn't want to forget. If he relaxes now, he might forget this entire conversation. And he hates that. Putting all of his focus on it, he finds himself able to find the flaw. It's not easy, but it's there. Now all he has to do is start putting his own magical energy in that weak spot.

He's breathing rather heavily as he does, finding himself sweating. But he doesn't let up, instead pushing himself harder, exerting as much energy as he can. He's not going to be defeated. If it's for Tohsaka, someone who he was almost as close to as Sakura, he can at least do this.

It won't kill him. ]

Haaaah...

[ A sharp exhale escapes his lips as he attempts to calm himself down. He's pretty sure he's managed to dispell her bindings; she can probably take them off on her own at this point as he tries to lean back towards the nearest pillar, exhausted. But it's not exhaustion that's overtaken him. He's used up a lot of his strength as well, but it's not something that will kill him.

But he doesn't want Tohsaka to see him in this weak state, so he adjusts himself accordingly, straightening himself up as he wipes his brow and gives her a soft smile. ]

Did... it work?
