October Test Drive!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Use an RNG to choose a location and prompt, or wait for someone else to tag.
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations
1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.
Scenarios
1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. EVENTS - Feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!
Prince Kit | Cinderella (2015)
[It's taken him a while, but Kit has finally managed to use the watch with some sort of proficiency. Just...he still couldn't figure out how to respond to anything in text. SO VIDEOS FOR EVERYONE.
Besides, who doesn't want to see his handsome face? Amirite?]
Pardon the intrusion, my fellow captives of this strange world. I find myself in search of a young lady. I've searched all over but find myself at a loss. She's the most interesting, beautiful girl in the world. Her hair is like spun gold and her smile could shame the sun. She also has the kindest soul I've ever met.
If this sounds familiar, I would appreciate some assistance. Thank you very much.
Scenario B: Mistaken Identity
[It's far too bright that day, but it doesn't stop Kit from his search for the beautiful girl of his daydreams. Despite his father's words, he knows that he'll never be happy with anyone but her. Rumors abound this strange city but he's tireless in his search.
As he steps around the corner, the sun hits him directly in the eyes, but there's a flash of blue and gold that he knows it must be her.]
My lady, is that you?
:3
[Oh, this was too good to be true.]
Oh, my prince! ♥ I'm so happy; I thought I'd never see you again!♥
[Much like she latched onto this one tiny hope, Anise also latched rather quickly onto the stranger's arm. She wasn't pulling back on the theatrics.]

Fun Ghoul / True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys
[When the first drop of rain fell Fun Ghoul had high-tailed it to the first awning out of sheer habit. Acid rain was a common occurrence, after all, and he didn't feel like getting burned by it in an unfamiliar city.
He stayed under the awning, at least until he saw other people passing by without any worry outside of getting wet. That alone was enough to make him pause, then reach out.
Oh. It was just normal rain...
Wait. His entire expression lit up. When was the last time there had been normal rain? He couldn't exactly remember.
Needless to say, there's soon a grown man jumping into puddles like a five year old, laughing away as he becomes drenched.]
10-10
[Are you ready for a fire fight?
Because Fun Ghoul sure as hell wasn't. He had just been exploring the forest because there was an actual forest here when he heard growling. The next thing he knew he was running from giant wolves, glancing over his shoulder every so often to fire a shot from his ray gun.
At least until it ran out of juice.
This really wasn't his day, was it? Well it seemed all he could do was keep running while cursing and praying to every Zone deity he knew. Hopefully he could lose the wargs before he made it to the edge of the forest. He really didn't want to lead them back to the city.]

Arianna Vard | RPG OC
[Arianna's on edge from the minute she steps off the train. Several years in Freehold and a war against a people who can just rip open portals for their armies to invade your kingdom will do that to you.
She stops often, listening for footsteps, wondering if she's actually being followed or just being paranoid. This time, though...this time those are definitely footsteps.
She turns and hurries to meet them, and you'll see her expectant expression and the hand raised either in greeting or to cast a spell fall.]
I...forgive me, I thought you were someone else. Or something else.
[6.3]
[Today the weather is gross. They do have coffee in her world, but it's an Inthian beverage and she wouldn't go near a "coffee shop" unless she was caught in weather so uncooperative.
Inside it is surprisingly not the den of iniquity she was expecting. Arianna lays her sodden cape on the back of a chair and looks around. There's no one behind the counter right now, but she can certainly make tea without burning the place down. If tea is a thing they keep stashed away somewhere here.]
I don't suppose you'd happen to know where they keep the tea?
6-3
Nope, but I bet'cha I can find it.
[And with that he's hopping over the counter, searching through the cabinets.]
Reimi Sugimoto | Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
It goes without saying that she has no idea how she's gotten here; there are assuredly no trains like this running through a little town like Morioh, and it'd be ridiculous to think she'd ever be able to stray far enough from her little alleyway at the halfway point life and death to ever board one. But here she is, and it's weird and deserted, but at least Arnold's come with her, and that's something. He bumps his head against her hand every time she puts it down to feel that he's still with her, and he knows to always let her feel his fur and cool, velvet nose instead of trying to reassure her with a lick.
Funny how that method never works to comfort her anymore, huh.
But that's how you might end up spotting an average-looking girl of about sixteen years of age in a pink dress and sandals near the train station, accompanied by a big golden retriever. Her demeanor is curious; she's walking around like a tourist with her head tipped back, gazing in wonder at all the sights of the city and its skyline, but there's a notable lack of self-consciousness in the way she wanders, too — less an obliviousness of possible danger and more just the calm certainty that it's not something she needs to worry about, oddly enough.
...Unfortunately, unless you're very tall and therefore likely to fall into her upturned line of vision, that also means she might just walk smack into you in her wandering. Sorry about that!]
[B — WINDOW SHOPPING]
Hence, it's entirely possible you might come across her window shopping, still accompanied by her big handsome golden retriever; her eyes are wide as she presses her face up to the window almost to the point where her nose is touching the glass, and every so often as she looks she pulls a box of chocolate pocky out of her pocket from apparently nowhere and retrieves a stick to chew on while she gapes.
Granted, she's only window-shopping because as far as she knows, she doesn't have any money to get herself something, anyway. Little does she know that's not exactly a problem around here.]
[C — AN ATTACK IS IMMINENT]
Little does she realize, while she's scouring the ground looking for pebbles, there's a red cap in the trees with its glowing red eyes fixed on her, claws ready to maul and iron boots poised to spring as soon as the moment is right.
If you spot it in time, you might just be able to intervene; will you?]
[IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: Descriptions of Reimi's dog, Arnold, raise content involving animal cruelty, because he is in fact a ghost dog who was murdered at the same time that Reimi herself was. If you would prefer to avoid descriptions of Arnold for this reason, please let me know when you tag in and I'll make sure to leave it out. Thanks!]
C
[And when Hierophant was with him like a number of snakes coiling around and through the trees in a strange kind of surveillance system, he caught sight of the occasional monster looking for a victim off their guard.]
Emerald Splash!
[The faintly glowing tendrils retreated and formed the Stand's human-shaped body, shining green projectiles flying over Reimi's head to impact the red cap with the force of a shotgun.]

[That's probably one of the reasons he doesn't believe in God. Nevertheless, he believes that churches are holy places in the very human sense, and so he slows down when he walks past them, which is how he sees Snow with her gown and her branch and begins to wonder.]
[If it had just been the gown, he would have waited outside for her. But no, the branch is what really catches his attention. It's not a traditional religious appeal, but it's one he approves of. So he follows her in, and his hair shines in the light bleeding in through the stained-glass windows, steps to her side and lights a candle, as he was taught to.]

Lady Amalthea/Unicorn || The Last Unicorn
[Such a strange world, this place. She felt so disconnected from her home, she could feel magic, and yet it was not magic she knew. What was this place and that strange metal beast? She had been in the bowels of the worm but it had released her and she no worse for wear. She gently pawed at the cobblestone, feeling the warmth of the sun yet not able to place where she was.
She was so far from her forest...
Why had that strange beast eaten her? She sighed, hoping for answers. Would these people even recognize her? Or would they see her only as a white mare as so many in her own world did? She paused as she observed someone coming towards her and shook her head. She did not offer a hello, not just yet, as they came closer.]
Because I can!
And all the scary monsters! Not even like monsters she was used to, but wargs and ghouls and dragons. She felt like she was in some weird Western-style story.
Only it was kinda fun? There were interesting people and some of them were nice enough to help her get around and adjust. They weren't like her best friends, but she'd had time to adjust to that too.
She stopped by the train station on her way to the park and stopped when she saw it. It was white and beautiful and pure. It reminded her of Chibiusa's Helios for a minute but she noticed the lack of wings.]
Oh, wow, it's a unicorn! [She waved tentatively before getting any closer.] I didn't think this strange place had unicorns.

koichi hirose | jjba
[He fell asleep on the plane and woke up on a train just in time to see the rolling green plains through the window shift into fog and then into the train station.
It's like the beginning of some badly directed movie and he hasn't completely ruled out that this could all be some sort of dream. Or a Stand ability. Oh he really hopes this is a dream.
When he steps off the train there's a light drizzle of rain with the promise of more later with how dark the clouds look. Koichi pats his coat pocket and there's at least some comfort in feeling his passport is still with him. At least everything can't go wrong all at once right? ... Right?
He looks back up at the sky, not yet walking out from under the protecting overhang.]
Well... I guess I should find a phone.
[ b - the coffee joint ]
[Of course when he decides to leave the station the rain starts to pick up, throwing heavy bullets of water at him as he runs to find another temporary shelter. When he sees the coffee shop with the 'Open' sign in the door he makes a beeline for it and all but stumbles inside.]
S-Sorry! Sorry, I... [Flustered at his own rude entrance he trails off when a waitress brings him a clean dish rag to dry himself off with and walks off before he can say a word.] Oh... Um, thank you. [Weird, weird, weird.]

At the sight of Koichi at the edge of the terminal - there is no way he could mistake that silhouette - the worry takes a backseat at the relief.]

But, whatever, he'll wait. At least until he spots Koichi darting into the coffee shop, at which point he perks up and tries to get his attention before the door closes--] Yo, Koichi!

Christine Daae | Phantom of the Opera (movie since I haven't read the book yet)
[Christine stumbled quietly off the train glancing around nervously. This had been the night of her first performance, her first time singing outside of the chorus and so her hair was done up neatly, elegantly, and she wore a fine dress. Something suitable of the nights prima donna.
She realizes quickly though that she'll be doing no singing here, the chill in the air biting through her dress and forcing her to breathe through her noise rather than making the cold air hurt her throat.
She steps forward and her foot catches the watch, sending it skidding and skipping across the ground, popping open as it stops.]
Oh-!
[Christine reaches, slender fingers gripping the silver watch and holding it up to look into the screen. She presses a couple of the buttons, curious, until a video starts recording.]

josuke higashikata | jjba
[The best way to get answers is to wander around the streets of an unfamiliar town until something happens. No one excessively weird has stepped out to laugh at him for being dumb enough to get caught so derelict cobbled streets it is.
Walking around is thirsty work though and he's passed enough cafes and restaurants in his wandering that kidnapped or not he deserves a treat by now. Except he has no idea how much money he has on him or if they even took yen. One of those questions he can answer right away so he pulls out his wallet in front of a store, begins to open the wallet and
Fumbles.
The wallet gracefully arcs down and bounces on the side walk and slides right down a drainage grate.]
No! No, no, no, no, no, no-!
[Josuke dives down all too late next to the grate. It seems hopeless, the mystery of how much money on hand will only be known to the sewer rats. Except he summons Crazy Diamond and proceeds to rip the iron bars right out of the street to stick a hand deep into the darkness, body flush against the ground to get maximum reach. Sorry to anyone that has to dodge that haphazardly thrown metal grate and crumbled cobble stone.]
This is the worst day ever! Come on...
yes
[Oh, it's Josuke. Never mind, then... Okuyasu tilts his head parallel to Josuke on the ground, raising an eyebrow and trying to parse out what's going on here.
Like it really matters, when he's jogging the last couple yards up to Josuke and the grate a couple seconds later. Just watch him pop a squat here in the middle of the street. Watch.]
Dude... I gotta feeling you know more than I do about whatever the hell you're doing, but this looks ridiculous.

okuyasu nijimura | jjba
[Okuyasu has deliberated not at all about the mysteries of his arrival in Ruby City. He's just not a thinking kind of guy, after all, and he can just tell he'd wind up with a headache if he tried to figure this all out-- so, he won't! Simple enough! What he decides to stick with figuring out is where he should go, though, so he studies the map in the train station,
which takes him to the police station for a map he can carry around,
which takes him out on the streets, wandering more or less aimlessly with his nose in the map held up in front of him. He passes a couple shops twice without noticing, and isn't actually... stopping anywhere, until the wind picks up abruptly and a corner of his map hits him in the face. He lets go of one edge to rub his face, and--
there goes the map, fluttering away and getting caught on an ornamental window garden box a story and a half up from Okuyasu stranded on the street. He looks up at it, squints, jumps up and down a few times, and none of this is working so don't mind the huge tin can footballer that suddenly appears behind him. Okuyasu points up, mostly for dramatic effect because The Hand doesn't actually need to be told. The Stand swipes its right hand in the air above them both and Okuyasu jumps at the right moment to get launched up higher as a result. Somehow. Whatever just happened there.
But his frantic grabby hands still can't get the map, and now he's dropping about a story's height down to the sidewalk... ow. Grace, thy name is not Okuyasu. Literally lying on the ground now, he winces before frowning.]
Whose stupid garden is this! Your petunias are giving me grief!

[Rohan crosses the street.]
I think you were making more progress when you were jumping up and down.
