[April] Test Drive!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Use an RNG to choose a location and prompt, or wait for someone else to tag.
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations
1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.
Scenarios
1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. EVENTS - Feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

He saw a nearby tavern as they walked along the street - wondering if they had a fireplace. In any case, they'd have food and a good ale. Both which would be welcome.
"Huh...looks promising..." He pointed, heading toward it.

She went in the direction he turned in. "I love them both. With all my heart!"

Kojin paused at the Tavern door, turning towards Kairi with a warm tired smile. "You are not from Earthrealm where I'm from, but I can still tell that your soul is warm, bright and very kind." He inclined his head, tones soft. "Never lose that." He patted her shoulder with a free hand before pushing the door open - noting the fireplace on a side wall all ready warm and crackling. His smile grew. However it was really odd that no one else was in there but them.
He walked all the way in, closing the umbrella and leaning it against the wall by the door. He took off his hat and rested it next to it, shaking his hair out. "Not so bad." He headed over to the bar on the far wall. "Now we're talking! Looks like it's fully stocked...." He said triumphantly, eyeing the shelves behind the bar and along the wall.
With a curious frown, he pushed at a set of wooden double doors that led towards the back. Perhaps the kitchen. "Hello??" He called. "Anyone here?"
It was the kitchen all right. Dusty...but functional. And empty.
The fire god could tell there was life moving about this city energetically speaking...but he'd never seen a tavern like this before.
"Good thing I know how to cook. You hungry?" He looked back to his companion.

She looked around with him, and sighed a bit when she saw there was no one there. It seemed kind of lonely, really.
She nodded. "I wouldn't mind some food. But we really should make this place more..." she didn't know what word she was looking for really. "It seems like it's all alone. We should help, somehow!" She turned and gave him a bright smile. "Maybe flowers?"

"We can fix the place up a bit..." Kojin nodded, moving to pull back the shades in the main room to bring in more light - even though the outside was still heavily raining. He went to the fireplace - holding out his hands. The flames jumped upwards and licked at his fingers and moved up his arms as his face shifted into one of contentment.
"Aaah, yes. That's more like it. Just need to borrow some of this to make us some food." Without the Jinsei, he had to make due with absorbing some of the fire that was all ready in the environment. With enough rest, he'd be able to generate his own no problem. Feeling that he had enough, the fire god strode back towards the kitchen - flames licking here and there at strands of his hair, and along his hands and arms.
He flicked a hand - pointing two fingers towards the large wood stove - and a large fireball shot into the grate, lighting the firewood with a FWOOSH. With that taken care of, the god immediately started rummaging about, seeking out various bottles, finding fresh veggies and some meat in an icebox. He found a knife and started chopping up veggies like he had always been in a kitchen.
"Perfect for some stir fry..." He looked over to Kairi. "You vegetarian?"

While he rummaged around for food, she looked for table cloths and other decorations to put out, dripping on the floor as she went.
"No, but I do love a fish dish with coconuts and mushrooms more than anything else I've ever tasted." She beamed a smile at him as she fused with place settings on a table that had been dusty until she got to it. "But when it comes to food, anything is fine really!"

He moved to another cutting board and started portioning up the meat. Cutting it up in small enough slivers that it wouldn't take long to cook.
"Hm...that sounds delicious actually." Kojin murmured at the mention of the dish she liked. "I love seafood. I see food, I eat it!" He laughed at his own joke, tossing his head back briefly. He checked the woodstove, holding out a hand and stoking the flames directly, creating more heat.
He saw that Kairi was finding some place settings and a table cloth and also noted her drenched state. "Need help drying off?"
no subject
"I'm sure if he shows up here, he'll take you up on that, he loves learning new things and making new friends." She smiled happily, getting one table set JUST SO, before bounding off to the other. Domestic wasn't really her thing, but this place needed it. Actually what it needed... "You didn't see any chalk anywhere, did you?"
She grinned at his joke while she dug around for the chalk, looking for some so she could decorate the walls. "Sora's the same way. He'll eat anything."

He placed it on the counter for her and then continued to check the heat of the stove. Perfect. He dribbled some oil into the large skillet-like cast iron pan and dumped the meat in along with some pinches of spices and some sauce from a bottle. It sizzled merrily while he washed his hands and continued chopping up the veggies. If his brother gods saw him now - they'd be probably letting him have it. He hoped that wherever they were, they were all right.
"I'm sure you'll be able to do anything you put your mind and heart to." He said, responding to her earlier words. "You have a strength of spirit that when combined with your bond of friendship - it can accomplish anything." He had the feeling she'd make a great healer. Perhaps even a protector. Her friends were lucky to have her.

Then he raised a hand and drew a circle in the air - slowly heating up the air comfortably in a circle around the girl's feet. He couldn't create a breeze to help dry her, but he could make the illusion of such as the warm air rose around her in an effort to help take off the chill and the worst of the wet.
"If you're wondering about the change in the air, that's me..." He spoke up, not wanting to alarm her. His tones were warm.

"Pretty much anything to do with Fire. Even become fire." He answered, golden eyes flashing briefly. "As fire god of Earthrealm, I am fire in physical form. I tend to spend lots of time this way so I can interact with people." His grin turned into a smirk of humor. "Got to work on my horrible shyness and all..."

He tossed the veggies into the pan and tossed the whole mix before moving to the counter and dumping some contents in a bottle into a bowl, mixing it with some other spices.
