July Test Drive!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
Locations:
1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.
2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?
3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!
4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.
5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.
6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.
7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.
Scenarios
1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.
2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.
3. Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?
4. Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!
Have fun, guys!
Leonardo da Vinci | AC II
[Leonardo's never seen a train before. Or been in one, in fact. In fact, until someone tells him otherwise, he'd have no idea this thing was called a train. But it's incredible! So, he hangs around the... station, for quite some time, journal open and charcoal (in his left hand, as always) moving.]
Burning the coal causes the wheels to turn...?
[There's a whole new world out here. It'd be a shame to not know how it worked. The cape and doublet, straight out of a Renaissance Faire (except a bit more authentic than that), are pretty distinctive, and the colors probably don't help in the subtlety department. Neither does the muffin cap of friendship. But he's busy sketching (and taking notes, all in mirrorscript), so what would he care about keeping a low profile?]
But is it the heat that does it, or is it the fire itself...
[Yeah, he's probably gonna be here for awhile.]

Wow, you're really good at that.

necro ALL the threads!
Gilles de Rais (100 Years War canon point) | Fate/Zero
Lancelotan ordinary knight.]]2, 2:
[Gilles has been kneeling in the Cathedral for some time, praying to be released from this prison and returned to the war. He's done no wrong, so why is he being punished in this way? He must be returned to Jeanne's side. Surely God will save him!
He is praying quite assiduously, even fiercely, but every so often, he reaches into his sleeve and pulls out a piece of parchment to glance at it.]
7, 1:
[Everything is so strange here. What is this--Café? Such an odd word! Gilles doesn't like it. He doesn't care for the Anglais part, either. Oh, what did he do to deserve being damned to this city of witches and oddities? He feels like he should fall down on his knees and pray... But he is very curious. He should know the ways of the Devil so as to better combat him, shouldn't he?
So of course, it makes sense for him to turn to the nearest person and address them, showing them the menu with a perplexed look on his face.]
Coffee, tea--what does this mean?
[It's hard, being from the 15th century.]

I think it comes from Turkey. It's not bad, but it can be a little thick. I've never heard of tea before, though.
[That's not gonna stop him from trying it.]

Luke Fon Fabre | Tales of the Abyss
[It's almost sundown and raining heavily. Luke has been in the city all day and he hates it already. It's boring and the people are so annoying. He wants to go back to his manor in Baticul already!
Which is why he is waiting at the station for a train to arrive. And hoping that one can take him home.]
Dammit, why is that transport thing taking so long? I wanna go home already!
I might tag as Jade later but THIS I COULDN'T RESIST
I'm afraid, dear boy, that there will be no train out of here. You're just as trapped as I am!
[If the red-haired swordsman were to glance up, he'd see...a mess of an animal hovering over him, stretched out comfortably with its horselike head resting upon a lion forepaw in a most human gesture.
Well, it would probably look like a monster to Luke, though Discord posed about as much threat as a ball of cotton candy.
For now.]
By the way, if you want to make friends here, you ought to hold your temper and abstain from such foul language! Honestly~
Code name: Abel || Starfighter
It was strange to feel the sun, breathe air that wasn't quite so stale, and enjoy sitting down with out fear of a rally alarm to interrupt any sort of activity.
The outside table was perfect though perhaps he should have chosen a table inside because the sound he made as he took the first sip was....well. Excuse Abel as he has a religious experience, drinking his tea. Well off like he was, it was a jump from his meals at home to rations and coming back to it, it was like a taste of home without the overbearing, shitty atmosphere.

The fighter threw himself moodily into the seat across from the navigator and sank down into it, puffing a breath up to shift his bangs from his forehead. He was uncomfortable here. It wasn't really hard to see it.
He'll just light up a cigarette if you don't mind, Abel.

Cody Travers | Final Fight/Street Fighter
Cody rubs the back of his neck, working out some of the kinks from a very unfortunate nap at the wrong angle. He manages to work out a few satisfying cracks before finding his seat.
"Not a bad place," he says aloud, looking the selection over for a moment, "Hell of a lot better than prison food, at least. What's the strongest drink you guys have on hand?"
He looks down at himself as an extremely audible growl rumbles up out of his stomach.
"Come to think of it, I could use something to eat, too. It doesn't cost anything, does it?"
Kurama || Yu Yu Hakusho
[Well. This is certainly a change of pace, and while it's not necessarily a terrible one, Kurama cannot say he simply abides being away from home, especially when he's not really aware of where he is.
Panic was never really his thing though, so his first move is to read the posters, gauge his situation from there...and then instead of using his watch to gain more information, he sets out from the train station to get a better lay of the land.
Judging by the situation so far, and how he has ended up here against his will, he assumes there will be nothing gained from standing around or asking questions that the city residents may well be tired of answering. Who knew how long they'd already been here?
That, of course, was only an assumption. At first it was nothing more than a hypothesis, really, but as he made his way through the city, finally settling on the library, he noticed that some storefronts seemed to have a bit more age to them. All the buildings were the same, but business postings were not.
His next few hours are spent poring over books, trying to figure out anything he can on his own about this "Ruby City" place. Perhaps there was a history to the place which would indicate what's going on.
Funny, what one person could suss out just by putting their mind to it and using their common sense. And even if he is completely wrong in doing this, it's only in his nature to try and figure out the puzzle.]
no subject
It never works if you look for things directly, but breaking down the place into different elements seems to yield more results.]
Do you need help with finding anything?
[Speaking up by the man's elbow, she tilts her head curiously. Never hurts to be friendly, right?]

Morticia Addams | The Addams Family
Morticia had booked a lovely girl's night out at the Rolling Hills Asylum and Spa weeks ago, as a little treat to herself and to let Gomez and the children have some special bonding time together. She'd read rave reviews about the torture chambers, electroshock rooms, sensory deprivation tanks and local vermin and was really looking forward to pampering herself. She'd kissed the children goodbye, and Gomez had kissed her goodbye (though she'd had to remind him she did have a train to catch) and boarded her train with her knitting in hand and purse and parasol tucked over her arm.
She'd let herself be distracted by her project - a lovely grey sweater for the new Baby Durmstrang, and she's dropped a stitch on the second neck, which was probably how she missed her stop. She was mildly upset at herself when it was suddenly time to leave the train and she found herself nowhere close to where she ought to be. And hadn't the train been grey when she'd boarded? She really should have paid more attention.
The train station was charming, swirling with fog in the twilight, a lovely place for a walk, or a good grave digging. It was almost comforting, against the strangeness, and the fact that it should not have been nearly close to evening yet. She really had lost track of time. Arms crossed over one another she stared at the garish signs posted nearby with pursed lips, skin almost glowing under the lights, then shook her head.
"Well, I must have simply missed my stop. Ruby City, I've certainly never heard of such a place. Hopefully Gomez will forgive me for being late, if I can just find a payphone."
no subject
He was cloaked by a glamour, an illusion of invisibility, so as he approached her he seemed almost like a ghost, materializing out of the fog, a young trickster god in his golden horned crown.
"I don't think you'll find one of those, here," he commented.

Lumina tended to pop over whenever she noticed a train coming in, though whether or not she actually spoke to whomever stepped off depended on how boring they looked. The woman certain had a clothing style the gothic lolita could appreciate, at least.
When Morticia looked up, the child would offer her a wave and a cheeky little smile. "And if you're hoping to talk to somebody back home, that's...gonna be a disappointment too. So~orry."

Celebrían | Tolkien
[It's on unsteady feet that Celebrían disembarks the train only to stumble forward and turn, looking at the train with wide, almost fearful, eyes as it departs.
She's dressed well, a long blue gown with silver threaded designs across it to complement the silver hair than hangs around her waist. Her footsteps are light, silent in fact, as she moves through the station and looks at the signs, the words making more sense to her than they should.
The signs aren't written in Sindarin nor in Quenya nor the Westron and those are the only languages she knows. With that and the train, the strangeness of the building and arrival, the elf-maid is ill-at-ease and no matter how in control she tries to appear, she's nervous. It shows in how tense her shoulders are and in her eyes.]
[B - Library]
[It's quiet here and that she can appreciate. After she'd healed and had become at least semi-fluent in Quenya, the library had been where she'd spent a great deal of her time and where her uncle and grandparents had often found her, studying the language and the history of Tirion rather than asking them questions and stumbling over Quenya.
And libraries can offer so much from information to a kind of sanctuary. And sometimes there are others there who can offer information that the library can't.]
[C]
[Choose your own adventure!]
B!
Strange, to add to everything else about this city. He finds a smile at seeing Celebrían already there a the library - how many times had this scene been repeated? More so in the adjusting and recovering days of her arrival, and he'd joined her so many times.
Silent feet bring him closer to her, just a quiet swish of clothing gives his steps away if she's paying attention. He speaks as usual, quietly and curiously.]
Celebrían. What have you learned?

Lily Evans | The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
[Lily is used to trains; she rides them, yearly, both to and from school. The novelty wore off by the end of her third year, when it became less of an adventure and more just another part of the school year. Still, when she wakes up in her compartment, devoid of any familiar faces or really any passengers to speak, it's clear that something this time is different. She doesn't even remember boarding in the first place; wasn't school not supposed to be for another two months?
As the train grinds to a halt, she braces herself against the doorway of her compartment, trying to make her way down the car to figure out where on earth she is. It certainly isn't Hogwarts; there’s not bustle of students, no woods beyond the station, hiding the now-second home that was the castle.]
Hello...? Is anyone here?
[She tries calling out cautiously, stepping out of the train and onto the open platform, but once again there seems to be no one in sight. After sighing a little in frustration and running her fingers through her hair, Lily plops down on a bench, trying to figure out the best course of action as the train pulls away once again.]
[Le Cafe Anglais]
[Lily finished her second tea about twenty minutes ago, as has contented herself to transforming her tea cup into a mouse and back again, sighing every few minutes as she does it with a simple flick of her wrist and a few short words. She had originally picked the café for its charming and comfy sort of familiarity, as it looked like the sort of shop she would have contented herself with at Hogsmeade, squished around a table with a few good friends. Instead she’s alone, out of ideas on how to return home and at a loss for her next steps in the new, unfamiliar city. She’s lucky she even has her wand.
She’s debated going after the second tea, but realized she didn't actually know if her galleons and sickles would be of any use in the city; instead she’s squatting at the table, wary to get up and be accused of skimping on payment.]

Ruby City was strange.
He pauses when he sees a redheaded girl turn a tea cup into a mouse. Actually, he doesn't pause, he walks into a chair and ends up stumbling forward. Flushing in embarrassment he looks at the redhead again.
It's just a tea cup...
Ruby City was very, very strange.]

james potter || that series named after his kid i guess
[ train station ]
[ James certainly remembered getting on a train, but when he was jostled awake he definitely was not on the same one he boarded. This wasn't London nor Hogwarts. So where was it? ]
Lumos.
[ A lit wand pokes its way over the corner, piercing the fog that's settled over Ruby City. A bespectacled boy of seventeen is holding it, dressed in a set of black robes with a scarlet and gold tie around his neck as he steps away from the station. He does a start when the train pulls back out of the station.
There's a slightly troubled laugh as he watches it go. ]
...Guess I'm going to be staying a while, then.
[ clock tower ]
[ Isn't the view lovely from up here? You're probably enjoying yourself, getting away from the noise and the bustle... Wow, that sunset is lovely.
Crack.
Don't mind the teenager that just materialized no less than an inch from the tower's ledge-- because, honestly, if you're going to find out if the city permits Apparation do it properly. ]
Excellent. It does work here.

So he's sitting on the ledge watching the sunset, lost in thought.

Bigby Wolf| The wolf among Us (end of ep 5 pull point)
[With a sigh, he smacks free another Huff n Puff cigarette from the pack. Fishing out a matchbook, he strikes a match and lights it, having a drag. He's woken up in some weird spots, but a moving train was new, even for him. Exhaling, he puts the cigarette into an ash tray.]
At least there's.. [Bigby eyes the coffee and has a drink.] Not the best, but it'll do. [He picks the cigarette back up and has another smoke, taking more than a few mental notes on the place.] "Ruby City, huh? There's probably not an atlas, and I haven't seen anyone I can place." [Letting his thoughts wander a little, Bigby sits back in his chair.]
Loki || Marvel Cinematic Universe
Eventually, he produces a short, bemused sound and quite abruptly stops his inspection to step further into the building itself, making a point out of appearing unimpressed by it. ]
B: [ clocktower ]
At the very least, he is alone up here and therefore can allow himself to make his disapproval regarding his situation audible in the form of a fairly disapproving groan. ]
clocktower
it's as a human that she stumbles across Loki. she climbs the stairs silently, on all fours, and hears his groan as she nears the top; she's the one interrupting another's solitude this time, then. on the landing, she straightens up and goes to see what kind of person she has found up here today. if she had chosen to wander in her true form as a cat, she may have just observed - but if she's going to drag this human body around, she may as well make use of it in ways a cat could not match.
the fact that she looks like a ten year-old girl won't dissuade her. she's never tried very hard to act as others expect her to. ]
It's a pitiful situation, isn't it?

Jilbax | OC
ok this is half voice test while im at it butSo, a little green man has just stumbled off the train. He's about three feet tall and absolutely adorable. At least, until he opens his mouth.
It's typical noob confusion - he doesn't know how where he is, he doesn't know how he got here, and the feeling of being compelled to get off the train has left him intensely unnerved. And being unnerved pisses him off. (It is one of many things that pisses him off.)]
Okay. What the actual fuck is this shit?!
