Test Drive Meme!
That's right! A test drive meme! This meme serves several purpsoes!
- Test drive a new muse! -- If you are considering apping a new character to Ruby City, you can comment with them here to try their voice out. Others (currently played characters and other potential characters) can respond. The same deal as usual. Post ICly. Your character can be newly arrived, or you can treat the thread as though they've been in the city for a long while. It's up to you!
- Test drive DreamWidth! -- We realize DreamWidth is new, so feel free to jump in, even with your current RC characters to start a thread and get accustomed to how DreamWidth feels to RP on. But please remember, any interaction from this meme will not count towards in-game CR. What happens in memes stays in memes.
- Stop the withdrawal! -- We anticipate that the move will slow down posting between our announcement of moving and the opening of the DreamWidth communities. So if you need your fix of your RC characters, toss 'em here for fun and games.
Cesare Borgia/Borgia
He had obviously been kidnapped, he surmised as he wandered around the train station, cardinal's robes flapping around him. He was trying to make sense of the odd place and discern its function, yet he was no closer to an answer as he had been the moment he finally escaped the metal contraption. This was the strangest kidnapping he had ever heard of, a pointless tomfoolery of the likes he would have normally only thought Juan capable of.]
Let's try this xD
He didn't remember a lot, though and he was quite sure he must have blacked out on his journey, but never would he have thought that he would end up in such a strange place in such a strange object.
It didn't take him long to see someone wearing a cardinal's rob. Did somebody of Cesare's enemies follow him? It might be safer not to appear as Michelotto in that case.]
Excuse me, do you know where this is?
no subject
Slowly, he turned around, a slightly pinched expression on his face, though he did his best to try and appear unassuming, a simple man of faith as many others. If his captors wished to play games, he would play them - and play them better.]
I'm sorry, I fear I'm at as much of a loss as you are.
no subject
[Chiaro was surprised to hear that. He had hoped - bet, that at least a cardinal would know in which place they were. After all, they were people of high ranking and usually didn't hold back when it came to use their power.
Chiaro laid his hand where his wound was. He could still feel it hurting.]
Did you get lost?
no subject
Last thing he knew before he had woken in the metal carriage had been hiding away in a little niche of the Vatican after he had stabbed his sister's lover right in front of the Pope, after Lucrezia... He hadn't been sorry. He still wasn't sorry. He couldn't even bring himself to feel upset, beyond a vague sense of regret that he shouldn't have sullied a priceless relic by stabbing the traitor with it. Granted, it might be the shock being kidnapped in a mysterious carriage to an unknown and just as mysterius place. He always felt guilty once his mind cleared.
Cesare shook himself out of his thoughts, frowning slightly at the man he presumed to be one of his kidnappers.]
I certainly don't remember going anywhere. Should I have been getting lost?
[His smile gained a sharp edge.] I hope I didn't die in my sleep. I would be hideously disappointed if this turned out to be hell.
no subject
[Okay, that was an uncomfortable thought. But he really didn't remember anything after fleeing from Rome. He might as well have died on his way... no. He hadn't been ready to die yet, he had wanted to stay by Cesare's side to see the world he would create with his own hands.
Chiaro scratched his head a bit and sighed. It seems this conversation wasn't really going anywhere, but he didn't really like that smile.]
It seems you're as clueless as me. I had been mugged, but I don't remember anything past that.
[This lie had to do it for now. It would also explain his wound. It was good he didn't wear anything too precious anymore.]

[The anger had been simmering barely under the surface after his fit of fury in front of the Vatican's highest men, that dark beast preying on his soul momentarily lulled by exhaustion, but neither tamed nor gone to sleep.
He could feel it uncurl within him now in the face of such shameless lies, a deception that wasn't even worth the name. He didn't understand the game, he didn't understand the rules, but he knew that he was Cesare Borgia and you didn't play games with him.]
Do you know who I am? [His voice was pleasant enough, calm. Pretending was a game he knew well.]
no subject
I can only tell that you are a cardinal, by your robes.
[Not one he has met, though. Unexpected young as well and most unfortunately, he would recognize the Cesare he knows pretty fast because there were always demons surrounding him, in one way or the other, unless he was just right beside him.]
no subject
Then you know far more about me than I know about you. Would you care to introduce yourself?
[One thing he had noticed was that the man appeared to be wounded, but that would be of little use to him unless this confrontation turned violent. Which, Cesare thought, it might. He would not let himself be played for a fool by a henchman of whatever enemy of his father had orchestrated this charade.]
no subject
I'm Chiaro. May I know your name as well?
no subject
There was no saying if the name was false or not, but having any name at all to pin to this face was a start. You had to start somewhere analyzing his enemy. For now, though... It was time to tear a few layers off this charade.]
He straightened his spine and raised his head, intending to look every inch the powerful prince of the world he deserved to be rather than the lost creature as which the metal carriage had spat him out in this unknown place.
I'm Cardinal Cesare Borgia, signore, and I hope you are aware of the full consequences of your actions.
no subject
Cesare Borgia? Are you sure of that?
no subject
I'm in full possession of my faculties, signore.
[Cesare felt some uneasiness as he realized that odd question could have been a threat. He hesitated for a moment, then decided to fake obliviousness.]
no subject
Then I think you must be lying. I know Cesare very well.
no subject
He took a threatening step towards the man, crowding him.]
I find that odd, signore, for I don't know you.
no subject
Instead, Chiaro took his mask, tightening it and the air around him seemed to change into something much colder.]
Miguel da Corella? Does that ring a bell?
no subject
I tire of playing your games! Tell me why you kidnapped me and your terms.
