There should be some blankets around, if you're still near the train station. If you stay there and wait just a little bit, I can bring you something else.

[He's a child, she can't just leave him there unattended!]

[Still very confused as to where this voice was coming from, he wasn't sure if he should do as it suggested. It sounded friendly and the advice could be true. He wasn't sure.

But, after a moment of shivering and realising the zombies he'd met on the island weren't that articulate, he went back to find the blankets. Where on Earth is he to be this cold anyway?]

[She can't see him, so when he doesn't reply, she waits for a little bit before speaking again, giving him time to do as she suggested.]

Did you find them?

[This time, Kerry realises the voice is coming from the vicinity of his hand as it moves and has a fleeting thought that the object in his hand could be the source. But for now, staying warm was the priority. He managed to find a blanket and, sitting on one of the benches he found, he wrapped it around himself.]

Y-Yes. Thank you. [He might as well be polite to the disembodied voice.]

Mm. [She acknowledges his thanks, though she doesn't think it's necessary. She's only doing the right thing.] If you stay there for a little bit, I'll come and help you. Do you need a coat, or anything else like that?

[While she spoke, he moved the object in his hand in different directions to test if that is where the sound was coming from. Affirmative. How on Earth it managed it was a question for a another time or perhaps when she got here but for now, he answered hers.]

Yes. I'm only in my vest top.

[unhealing]

Oh! [She can't help but feel a quick stab of anger, directed at their captors. Not only did they bring a child here, but one that was so underdressed for the weather? But, that just makes her need to get a coat to him all the more urgent.] I'll be there as soon as I can.

[Kerry simply nodded, not bothering to reply. He'd wait until she got here then asked his questions. Starting with 'what was this contraption and how did it work?']

[Claudia isn't in the best of health, but she makes her way to the station as quickly as she can. She's bundled up fairly well herself, which hides her bandages and frail frame for the most part, though of course her eyepatch is still visible. As soon as she's close enough to do so, she offers him the extra coat slung over her arm.]

Here. I'm sorry, are you alright otherwise?

[cappingjustice]

[Kerry is surprised. She looks in worse shape than him and yet she's concerned.] I'm fine. [He quickly grabbed and put on the coat, feeling the warmth as the wind didn't attack his arms.]

I'm Kiritsugu but everyone calls me Kerry. Are you okay, miss?

[unhealing]

Alright, Kerry. My name is Claudia. [She smiles at him, the action automatic and meant as reassuring, though her expression turns a bit sheepish when he asks after her health.] Mm! I'm fine. I can explain some things, but we should get you somewhere out of the cold first.

Nice to meet you. [He nodded and stood.] Which way do you suggest? [Anywhere would be better than here. She was right. Answers could wait.]

Hm... There's my apartment, but I understand if you aren't comfortable going there. Someplace like the library or the clinic might be better. Where would you like to go?

[She starts to walk away from the train station, since that's the same in any case.]

Whichever is closest. [He wasn't particularly bothered where he went because wherever it was would be warmer than here. He noticed her walk so he followed since he had had no idea where he was. Maybe later if he had some warmer clothes, he would explore.]

[unhealing]

The library, then. [It shouldn't take them too long to walk there, even with her condition being what it is.] Are you hungry?

[cappingjustice]

[Hungry? He couldn't remember the last time he ate but he still didn't feel like eating. Not after what had happened.] Oh...no. Thank you.

[He followed her, watching he closely and wondering about her.]

If you're sure. If you change your mind, just ask.

[They can talk some while they walk, at least.]

This place is called Ruby City. I'm sorry, but no one here knows how to go back home right now.

[Kerry nodded, listening.] I will.

[No way home? It didn't seem to bother him. After eveything that had happened, what did he have to go home too?] That must be frustrating.

[Claudia notices that his reply isn't what she would expect from someone his age, and it surprises her. She doesn't want to pry, but...] You aren't upset?

[cappingjustice]

[Realising that's not what she expected, and not wanting to go into details, he lied slightly.] Of course. But if no one here knows then I don't see any reason to cry over it.

[unhealing]

[She purses her lips together slightly. It's a strange thing to have someone his age say, she thinks, but she supposes he could just be mature for his age.]

It's good that you're taking it in stride, but if you need help from other people, don't hesitate to ask, okay? I know I'll be willing to do what I can, and so will a lot of other people.

[She's just concerned!]

Since you might be here for a while, you should know that food, clothing, and shelter are all free, so don't worry about not being able to pay for things. [Though she doesn't like the idea of him being on his own.] There are apartment buildings with empty rooms. You might want to stay in one of those, so there are people close by in case you need anything.

[He was glad she accepted his reasoning, and he continued to nod as they walked. Everything was free, that certainly helped matters. Though he'd never lived on his own before. Never had to.]

So I just take anything I need? [It was easier to ask about than living arrangements.]

That's right. There are several stores here, and they always seem to be stocked. You can find most anything you need in them.

[cappingjustice]

[He'd remember that for later. He was going to need something to eat eventually, not to mention a complete change of clothes if he was here to stay.]

Perhaps later, you can show me?

Mm! I'd be happy to. I know it's strange to find yourself here all of the sudden, so if you'd like me to, I can help you get settled in.

[Oh, but there's the library. She opens the door and leads him inside.]

Once you're warmed up, we should get you some clothes that are more suited to the weather.
