[Another nod followed by another shiver. It was cold here in just his vest top.]

Nice to meet you Lancer. I'm Kiritsugu. But most people call me Kerry.

[puppy_lancer]

[He notices the boy's shiver. In response, he pulls off his suit jacket. It smells of alcohol and tobacco and dog and also happens to be too big for the boy's frame, but it should be better than just a tank top.]

Bundle up a bit better then, Kerry.

[He throws the coat at the child.]

[Catching the coat, he gratefully placed it over his shoulders.] Thank you. It was very warm where I came from.

[puppy_lancer]

[He nods.]

Warmer where I came from too.

[But as Servant, his body is more weather-resistant.]

Guess you'll need to find someone willing to get you a coat or something.

Oh. I haven't got any money but I guess I could work for it. [Great. This was going to be fun.]

[Kids like him were rare nowadays, since they all seemed to be rather spoiled.]

This one city in Japan. Think it was called Fuyuki? It's in the South, so it's pretty warm.

Not really but it's better than nothing.

[He'd heard of Japan. Not Fuyuki but at least he vaguely knew the area of the world. He nodded his understanding. It made sense.]

Were you not there long? [Not remembering the name of your own city made it seem like Lancer couldn't have been born there, or at least not brought up there.]

[puppy_lancer]

Nope, just a few days.

[His actual life in the present era won't last any more than a month anyways.]

[Another nod. That seemed the case.] So where did you grow up? If you were only in Japan a few days before coming here?

[puppy_lancer]

Ireland. It's...pretty far away from where I am now.

[Pretty long ago too.]

[Kerry nodded, pulling the coat around him a little more.]

Yeah. I know they're far apart. Never been to either though.

[puppy_lancer]

They're good places. Take a look if you ever get a chance.

I'll remember that. If I ever get out of here.

You want me to show you around as long as you're here?

[Though Lancer only knows a few places. However, he does know about the Church. Surely Kirei would take this kid in, right?]

[Look up. Kirei and kids don't mix Church sounds warm.]

[He starts walking and beckons for the child to follow him.]

[And everything that happened afterwards was all Lancer's fault]

[Kerry followed obediently. Better follow someone who knew where they were going he supposed. And besides, how bad could it be? The guy was nice enough to give him his oversized jacket after all.]

[And may God have mercy on our souls...what's left of them in Kirei's anyway.]

...Say, kid, are you hungry?

[Maybe they should grab some food before heading to the Church.]

Oh...er...[He hadn't thought about food for a while. He probably should eat something but he wasn't sure if he could hold it down after what had happened in the last twenty-four hours. So he decided against it.] Not really.

Are you? [Maybe he could pick a little at Lancer's?]

[puppy_lancer]

Me? Not particularly.

[Servants didn't need food, after all.]

But you should get something warm, shouldn't you?

I...guess? [He wasn't really sure at this point but he wasn't really going to argue with the nice man. And it might help?] Where do you suggest for that, then?

[puppy_lancer]

[He scans the streets for grocery shops.]

This place'll do...

[The good thing about Ruby City's shops is that they can barely be called shops. People can come and take whatever they want from unattended stalls that always magically re-stock.]

[He picks up an apple and throws it at the child.]

Don't they say something about growing taller after eating apples?

Aren't you gonna pay for that? [He wonders how a city can survive if people continuous thieve. But now he's got the apple, he does feel a little hungry.]

I'm not sure.

[puppy_lancer]

Don't need to. The city restocks this place. Besides, there's nobody hiring and no money anywhere, so we might as well as just take what we need.

[Not that he's particularly proud of this.]

[Okay he really was hungry so he'd worry about that later. Right now, food. And the apple tasted really good.]
