TEST-DRIVE MEME

Maybe you've considered appping a new character but you're not sure how well they would adjust to the in-game scenario? Well, here's a chance to give it a try!
• Post with a character journal you'd like to voicetest or you've considered apping to Ruby City. Feel free to play them as newcomers or as if they've been here for a while - the setting is your own choice.
•Respond to other threads with new characters or with characters who are already in the game.
• Explore different interactions, find castmates, develop possible CR - anything you want, as long as you have fun!

[And technically he's not blind, but he's not taking the chances of seeing if it's daylight or not out here.]
Well then who the fuck has it? And some jackoff shoved me off of the bus, or whatever the hell you guys put me on!
[He takes a big step forward and swings the cane in Dirk's general direction. Easy to find you when you talk.] Fine, I don't need my fucking visor anyways! I can find my way around easily! I don't need shitheads like you thinking you can push me around like a damn dog or something!

[And then his voice is coming from somewhere else entirely, because he's flashstepped out of the way of that threatening cane swing. You've got one hell of an inferiority complex, there, dude.]
You don't know where you are, and it would be so easy for me to leave you out here and watch from a rooftop while somethin' eats your sorry ass, but I'm actually here in all my magnanimous benevolence to offer you some help.
no subject
There it is. Scrambling a little, Freyr picks it up and pushes it onto his face. It's kind of dirty, with a scratch on the lens, but the comfort of having it calms him a little bit.]
Well where the hell am I then? I bet I could fend off whatever had the balls to try and fight me! [Huff.] When you say help, do you mean that you'd get me back to the mansion? Seriously, this is fucked up, who takes a blind guy out east jesus fucking nowhere?
no subject
[Huh, so that's the visor he was ranting about. Dirk's more than familiar with the necessity of certain eyewear, either real or imagined, so he doesn't comment on it.]
Unless you're more of a demon with that cane than you're lettin' on.
no subject
[He's clutching the cane closer to his body now, white knuckled but looking more on edge to lash out if he thought someone was too close.]
I'm a mutant, not a demon. We're not like that dick Magneto or whatever his name is. The one that runs the Brotherhood.

[Then his expression shifts slightly, almost imperceptibly, and he rubs his face with one hand.]
Oh, great, now we're netting the X-men. [It was only a matter of time. Real superhero melting pot up in here. He mutters that, then looks up again.] I'm not calling you a demon, genius.
no subject
[He's dressed casually - sneakers, jeans, t-shirt and a jacket. No uniform here.]
Where the hell is Ruby City? No place around Salem as far as I fucking know. You sure you're not just pulling my damn leg? You sound like one of the shitty upper classmen who think they own the goddamn place. And my name's Freyr. Now who the hell are you?
no subject
You look around, tell me where you think you are, then tell me if I'm pullin' your leg. [A shrug.] I wouldn't pull a blind man's leg. All kinds of unclassy, yo.
[He clears his throat.] I'm Dirk, and no, this place isn't around Salem. It isn't around anywhere.

[Thinned lips, he's not impressed.] Well I can't fucking be here, I need to get back to the school. Where the hell did that train go? I can't even tell if it's late night or day light out here!
no subject
It's evenin', and I'm so close to decidin' you ain't worth my time that I can taste it.
no subject
Hearing that it's evening is settling though and he pulls the visor back off. This time his eyes are open, but no visible pupils in a sea of glowing luminescent green of his eyes.]
Now where the hell did the train go so I can get back to the school?!
no subject
It doesn't let people on, only off. If you're going back to school, it's not going to be because you want to.
no subject
[He turns to see that the train is gone - probably took advantage of him being distracted by Dirk to get the hell away.]
I want to go the fuck home!
no subject
[He rubs the pad of his thumb along his jaw, slanting his gaze away.]
So do most of the rest of us. This is a prison. More or less free range, but a prison.
no subject
Prison? PRISON? What the hell kind of prison is this in America? I didn't even fucking do anything, I'm just some guy that goes to a fucking school like everyone else!
[Despite his rather vulgar mouth and violent temper, Freyr's good at staying out of trouble with the law.]
no subject
[His hand moves through his hair, pushing it off his forehead, though it quickly settles back into that impossible-looking style.]
What this is, is an isolated bubble in space-time, with one way in and no exit, and I can't put it into simpler words than that.
no subject
[He tucks his visor into his pocket carefully one with one hand while the other holds onto his cane tightly.]
Why the fuck was I brought here? I'm not exactly Prime-A mutant material or anything.
[Another huff.]
no subject
I've no fuckin' idea what kind of random number generator they're usin' to decide who gets pulled in from when and where. Are you one of those people who wakes up in the morning wondering just what the fuck makes you special? Well, maybe you shouldn't have.
[He hooks his thumbs through his belt loops.]
If you ain't that kind of person, then bad luck I guess.
no subject
Where the fuck am I supposed to stay then? Or do I get more fucking bad luck and have to stay on the street?
