Hello again, Ruby City. I guess I just couldn't keep away. This is Fox, formerly the player of Erwin Smith, back with yet another Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin character.

This is Marlowe Freudenberg, representing the Military Police: a humorless young man with an abnormal passion for justice, a good cop who wants to transform the system from within. Because that always works out so well. But don't worry, he's started to think about smashing the system instead. You can read more about him here, if you are so inclined.

Anyway, it's good to be back, and I look forward to Marlowe grimly not smiling at anyone!

Oh right, and I'm [plurk.com profile] teacuppity on Plurk.

Weather

Full Weather Report | Threat Report

It's a wet start to the week and it's not going to get much better as the first half of the month wears on. The humidity is skyrocketing, leaving the air feeling heavy and muggy even with the scattered showers. The nights are almost stiffling for those not used to the still relatively cool temperatures. With the rain, the river has swelled slightly up the banks, but not to worry, it's certainly not close to flooding.

City News

The naiads in the river are enjoying the increased volume of water and can be spotted playing in the rain if one is careful and quiet. Continuing on from last month, a group of particularly mischievous Seelie fae are still sneaking out of the forest and into the city itself, taking items at random. Nothing that they steal ever leaves the city, but might turn up in another house, in someone's pocket, or even up in a tree! Remus Lupin has suggested that it might indeed be the work of fairies.

The damp, warm weather is at least keeping the wildlife a little more subdued than normal, though wargs are patrolling the plains as ever and venturing too deep into the forest brings with it the potential to run into rodents spiders of unusual size.

However, the naiads are not the only creatures taking advantage of the rain. Beware of Kelpies!

In terms of NPC activity, well, they seem to have quieted down again for a little while after making their presence well and truly known. NPC encounters can be arranged with the mods, just bear in mind that the city's hosts don't take kindly to being called on! They're very busy people. Very busy.

The city's second blood drive is up and running! Go ahead and donate, the city's vampire population will thank you. There is also an OOC post regarding a puzzle club which will be run from one of the apartment rooms by Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu and Edward Nygma. Offering games, light gambling refreshments and ample chances to drum up new CR.

Current and Upcoming Events

Due to circumstances out of modly control we are currently a little behind with an event that we wanted to pull off before the end of spring, but there will be a post up soon for a spring/summer event which will lead nicely into another related event thereafter, hopefully taking us up to an exciting point in Ruby City's development. Some of the residents probably won't be very happy about it. Those NPCs are such scamps.

Miscellaneous

The June Test Drive is up, as is the CR meme for June. I am going to endeavour to get both of these things up with some regularity from now on, so feel free to poke me (Fi-mod) if they don't appear.

The activity check will be going up on the 5th! Please don't hesitate to let us know if you think you're going to have any trouble meeting activity and remember, hiatuses only make you exempt if you're on hiatus for two weeks within the checking period! Also, as I've noticed a few people asking this - unfortunately, IC inbox threads do not count towards activity.
