I don't really have a fitting picture for this.

G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.

Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:

• Post with your character with their name and canon on top!


• Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.

1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.


2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?


3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!


4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.


5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.


6. The Coffee Joint: Run by James Potter and Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.


7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

Scenarios

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.


2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.


3. Inclimate weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?


4. Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!

Well, he's my Master. What do you suggest I do?

I don't know what you can do considering how many command spells he has. Especially since I get the impression he's not the kind of man who could easily be tricked into wasting them.

[Diarmuid sighs.]

Do you know anyone besides yourself who could maybe...talk to him?

[Punching him in the balls a few times might work too, but Diarmuid is too polite to suggest such a thing...for now.]

Other than his family? Uh...not really.

[Diarmuid gives the other servant a confused look.]

Do you mean his wife or does he have other family members here as well?

Just his wife. And I guess we can count his other Servant too.

I would count on that servant for nothing but trouble and a migraine or two if he bothers to leave you head attached to your body.

[A look of disgust crosses Diarmuid's face.]

Perhaps Saber will have the chance to put him in his place soon...

...I can't just sit on my ass and watch her do that, though. Not my way of doing things.

[He narrows his eyes at the other servant.]

Would you rather she be denied her battle or even injured because your master decided to make you interfere with all those command spells he possesses?

I'm a Servant. I'll have to fight her sooner or later.

[oathshackledbird]

Why?

[Diarmuid's eyes narrow further.]

There is no war here and no Grail. Why would you have to fight her?

[puppy_lancer]

Because someday we might have to stand on opposite sides. I've...already chosen a Master. Maybe she will too. And when that happens, we'll fight on their orders.

Doesn't mean I don't like and respect her, though.

That is ridiculous!

[Diarmuid sits back and gives the other servant a glare.]

There is no war. Starting up new feuds just wastes the opportunities we have been given here! And if we must fight, shouldn't it be against those who brought us here instead of each other?

...You have a good point. But my Master knows that as well. We won't make a move against anyone else unless Saber makes a move on us first.

[The severity of Diarmuid's expression lightens, though he still seems stern as he looks back out over the lake.]

From what Saber has told me and from what you yourself have told me, your master is not a very good man. If he orders you to do something wrong, do you plan on just following those orders or instead following your own honor in whatever way might be available to you?

[Diarmuid remembers far too well what his blind loyalty to Kayneth had gotten him--indeed, unconsciously his hand rises to rub at the spot on his chest through which he had driven his spear--and would rather not see another share that fate.]

Don't be a dumbass. Of course I won't follow his orders if he tries to make me do something that I'm outright against.

Really? Because the way you have been talking for the last couple of minutes it has almost sounded like you would just roll over and let him kick you if he asked.

He tricked you into this contract. If you dislike him so much, find a way to break it before he uses those command spells to break you because it sounds like he is just the kind of man to do it.

[There is a good deal of bitterness both in Diarmuid's words and on his face. Which...is interesting since he didn't even know Lancer or his master before tonight.]

[puppy_lancer]

[He's silent for a second. Then he bursts out laughing again and slaps Diarmuid on the back.]

Don't worry. I don't break easily.

[He looks at Lancer out of the corner of his eyes.]

I am glad you can find some humor in your situation. Forgive me if I don't.

Again, don't worry so much. You'll go gray. I'm a pretty lucky hero, so I'll probably get out of this.

[Diarmuid scoffs under his breath.]

Sorry, telling me not to worry is like telling an Irishman not to drink. It doesn't happen or if it does it probably means I'm dead.

...Well, I can tell you the drinking part is kinda true.

[Their people weren't the most sober people. And Cu Chulainn was pretty much a shining example of that.]

[Diarmuid raises an eyebrow at the other man.]

You must not know many Irishmen...

[The other Lancer hasn't revealed his true identity after all, even though he knows who Diarmuid is thanks to Saber.]

Hey! I'm Irish!

[He sticks his tongue out at Diarmuid.]

It's just that one or two of my friends weren't as fond of drink as the rest of us were. I'm talking about them here!

[Diarmuid gives him a curious look.]

I am afraid you have me at a disadvantage. You know me because of Saber, but I do not know you. Would you mind telling me your name so I may greet my fellow countryman properly?

[He considers if for a moment, and then decides that he can't deny a request. Especially not in the name of fairness.]
