[EVENT] We're all going on a summer holiday~

Somewhere beyond the sea, somewhere waiting for me...

It's that time of year, the sun is shining, the tank is clean, but there's nary a beach to have a good old summer party on, right?

Wrong.

On Monday, August 5th, a portal will appear in the centre of the city. Through it, a tropical paradise will be visible, perhaps strikingly familiar to some. The smell of the sea and the sound of the waves is so enticing, how can anyone possibly resist taking a look? Is it a trap? An elaborate hoax? Only walking through the portal will tell.

On the other side, is a deserted island, surrounded on all sides by water. The island itself is ready to be explored, but straying too deeply into the thick jungle lining the beach and stretching up to the mountain rising up in the island's centre isn't recommended, unless you are equipped to handle the unusual and exotic creatures that can be found there. Following the river that runs into the sea in one part of the island will lead to a wide lagoon and stunning waterfalls, and deeper exploration for the brave and bold will reveal ancient ruins deep in the heart of the island.

Doesn't it sound perfect?

What's the catch, we hear you ask. Well, of course there's a catch.

Although the portal city-side remains constant, the other flickers constantly, remaining steady for several hours before vanishing for several more. While the portal is closed beach-side, people will still be able to enter city-side, though their landing might be a little rough! Watch communication is limited and will not pass from one world to the other.

!Because of this, should you use an open post during the event, please mark where your character is when they are sending it!

At 11:59PM on Sunday, August 11th, the portals on both sides will close and disappear. Anyone caught on the wrong side will be unceremoniously dropped, unharmed, into the city centre.

Use your week of fun wisely, but don't lose heart, dear friends, once it's over. This isn't the last you've seen of some of these locations.

Loki's not a big fan of this island, but he'll go if dragged by someone else. I really want him to get stuck am all for him spending some time on the island! He doesn't take heat well, so if he goes he'll be in the shade most of the time or swimming. Perhaps a nice night time swim in the lagoon?

Considering that Fang came from Oerba, which was beside the ocean, this could make for a cute little episode. She is, however, injured by way of broken leg. I could get her some crutches and throw her to the beach, if anyone wants to try and convince her to go. She could really use the sun.

Zacharie will probably go and oh so conveniently start selling sunblock. It may take some convincing for him to actually get into the water (because he's totally a cat and cats hate water, right?) but I'm all for someone talking him into it.

I'm also all for someone cutting the middle man out and just simply shoving Zacharie into the water too :D Erm...I'm all for plotting!

Smile will probably go too, mostly because this will be the first time seeing a bright and sunny place like a beach because the .flow program was lacking in bright and sunny places and that's confusing. Who knows, he might not be as creepy during this.

Also, I may have Erwin Smith in the game by then, if all goes well, so let me know if you'd like to plot anything with him. If I get in, I'd definitely want him to go to the beach, because it would be cute.

AS I AM ON HIATUS, I won't be around much. However! While I will probably not be doing a whole lot, if anyone in particular wants to do anything with any of my gals, I am available for slow and/or backdated threads.

Ingrid will want to check out what's on the other side of the portal, if only because she thinks it's worth exploring. Also, because she actually is a teenage girl, she might take some time to enjoy herself on the beach as well. Of note is the fact that she'll be in a bathing suit at least part of the time, which means the alien tissue grafted into her back will be visible! If your character would have an interest in super soldiers and giant aliens and that kind of thing, that might be worth pursuing.

Manaka will go because she's Manaka and she does what she wants, so basically she'll probably just troll along the beach and give people a hard time and say things that seem completely inappropriate for a child and ask all kinds of weird, invasive questions.

Claudia will go in spite of her delicate health, because it seems nice, and she and Kirei will be the cutest couple together. Yes.

Klavier is going to love this. Well, kinda. Klavier is not the 'vacation' type, so this will be his first one since he was a kid, so expect him to act like a kid--stupid antics and all. That being said, he's still got an adventurous streak, and if anyone wants, he will go explore further in towards the ruins if invited. He'll regret it intensely, though--Klavier is a lover, not a fighter. Ha. He probably won't go unless someone brings it up or he gets tired of the beach shenanigans, though...

...which admittedly may only take about three days, tops.



Machi... can't swim. He's never been in a swimsuit either. Good luck getting him to go through the weird scary portal, and even better luck getting him to do anything but NOPE once he's there. He might go wander along the river bank. But really, the kid can't swim and has literally never experienced a vacation in his life. Are you really gonna force this on him?

Davesprite won't really want to go because yo random portal to paradise be sketchy but everyone else is going and he can't really say no. He won't go in the water though so mostly he'll be poking at dead things that either wash up in the sand or that he finds at the edge of the jungle. Or you know. Alive things that he finds in the jungle.
