Let's take this for a spin

G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.
Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations:
- Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.
- Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?
- The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!
- The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.
- The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.
- The Coffee Joint: Run by Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.
- Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.
Scenarios
- Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.
- Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.
- Inclement weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?
- Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!
Have fun, guys!
Rufus ShinRa | Final Fantasy VII
[A young man sat on one of the benches shrouded from casual view in one of the blankets that could be found at the station, all that could be seen from afar were a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of pale hands holding onto a watch. He didn't know where he was, or for that matter, just how he had gotten here, beyond the obvious. What he did know was he wasn't in the least pleased about being apparently kidnapped once again and this time seemingly right from beneath the noses of the Turks.
The watch was interesting though, he'd managed to figure out a couple of the buttons via trial and error and was currently investigating the function of the rest of them. Once he figured it out, if no one had shown up to explain things, he would see about finding his own way out of this place and getting back to Edge.]
They see me trollin'~
But, because of the hood she's having trouble recognizing who it is. Until she notices the shoes. Only one man in her life wore shoes like that. And even after their brief meetings she'd know the owner pretty easily.]
Well, look what the Zolom drug in. Rufus ShinRa...I never thought I'd see you here.

I must admit I did not expect to see you either, Miss Gainsborough.

Of course, the last time I saw you, you looked a whole lot better, Mr President.

But, I'm alive here, and so is Zack, so I can't say it's a bad thing.

The figure wasn't easy to place. Covered so well as he was, she couldn't recognize Rufus and it had been years besides since she'd last see him.]
Hey, just arrived?
no subject
Yes. Might I ask you for the name of this town?
no subject
Of course. You're in Ruby City now.
[She points at one of the posters nearby, written in several languages. Including wutain.]
no subject
Where would this Ruby City be in comparison to Midgar, do you know?
[Surely she'd know where that was and could give him a location reference to use in properly locating himself.]
no subject
Midgar... that sounds familiar.
[Give her a second.
Almost...
got...
it...]
Oh! Elena's mentioned it!
This is an entirely different world. You're very far away from Midgar now.

The train station is always her first stop, made even easier after moving in to the house Reno had acquired, it's location closest to the place all new arrivals came. Made monitoring that much easier. It's the familiar mass of white that calls her attention first, the figure's posture so utterly familiar. She'd become so familiar with the way shoulders remained squared, solid even when wracked with Geostigma. And it's that figure that made her heart wrench.]
....Oh no.
[White cloth hid everything about the man, but she knew. No, she feared. Feared this was the same man who shed spent over a year with, both when he had been sick and healthy. Feared that it was another who would not remember. Either way, she approached, her steps audible so as to announce her presence to him as she came closer.]
Sir.
no subject
Elena. Care to fill me in on why we are here?
no subject
His question was much more neutral - seeking information about the city and the basics that all newcomers ask. Shoulders sag slightly, giving a short breath through her nose.]
Unfortunately I cannot tell you the 'why', sir, as we've not been able to figure it out. But I can explain the 'where' and 'how' of our situation.
no subject
I would appreciate that. I've never heard of a Ruby City until now.
[The posters he saw while claiming the blanket had given him that name, but currently it meant nothing to him.]
no subject
Geostigma. Damn.
Her head nods, blonde hair brushing against narrow cheeks. She could do this. Just fill the President in with the details and then get him safe and secure in the home she shared with Reno.]
That would be because we are no longer on Gaia, sir. Ruby City sits in some sort of limbo between worlds. And not just ours, but hundreds of worlds. Like a parallel universe of sorts. We're brought here by the hosts that watch over the city, the reasons we've still yet to fully understand.
The only good part about this entire situation is that from the point we are brought here, everything on Gaia stops. Time is frozen until we return to Gaia, where we will then continue on with our lives without even realizing we were here.

He approaches after a moment with a tentative greeting. ]
Do you need some help?
[ He doesn't recognize Rufus (not all covered up like that), but the SOLDIER First Class uniform and the Buster Sword he carries are likely recognizable to Rufus. ]
no subject
While he was quite certain that the Lifesteam didn't look like this, it was nonetheless unnerving to see Zack Fair of all people greet him. When he answered the question he made certain to keep that shock out of his voice. There was no need to let the other man know how his appearance had affected him.]
Yes. I would like to know just where I am and who is responsible for my being brought here.
[Yes, unfortunately he is rather skeptical of the posters on the walls currently.]
no subject
His brow furrows a little, but he offers what explanation he can, in the meantime. ]
You're in Ruby City. A sort of nexus between other worlds.
Nobody really knows who's responsible -- the people who run this place might be, but it's not a sure thing.
[ A pause, then- ]
Do I know you?
no subject
I believe you might know of me, yes. You worked for my Company for quite some time.
[He'll reach up with the hand not currently holding the watch to pull the blanket down to rest over his shoulders, revealing blond hair, blue eyes in a pale face and the bandages that still were around his throat.]
no subject
He has a lot of negative feelings and memories attached to the ShinRa name. A lot of good men were lost, a lot of people hurt, and of course, the order for his execution came down from the company. If he hadn't arrived a few months ago, his reaction to seeing Rufus...probably wouldn't have been especially pleasant.
As it is, he frowns a little, his expression more contemplative than anything else. The man is sick, obviously, and he's not the sort to rub that in someone's face. ]
So I did.
[ Past tense. He considers the man openly. ]
How is the company these days?
[ It's an honest question, and he says it with a surprising lack of venom. ]

[Not Here - but he might be...]
However his one-winged form is somewhat of a regular pockmark on the skyline of Ruby City, Sephiroth patrols the skies often; if something changes he wants to be the first to know about it. Especially after last time with that accursed Grail. It was above the streets on that particular north-west corner of the City that a presence blinks at his extended awareness. Geostigma is something of a less significant link to the great Jenovic web but, as his experiences with Elena have taught him - it is recognizable within a certain proximity.
It takes less than a heartbeat to issue a thin finger of his will out towards that victim and stroke at the very surface of their mind. Who are they, and what their last memories before coming here are would be his before Sephiroth decides whether to approach or simply pass-over.]

'A good son would have known.' The words precede the box's descent from the building.
The next part is a flurry of activity, fire magic, gunshots and screaming. Freefalling until caught by nets and delivered safely to the ground where he gives the unspoken order to send the Turks after the Remnants. That is when things begin to get hazy and foggy until it reveals a no doubt familiar station.]

'A good son would have known.'
Oh, Kadaj and his poor over-emotional outrage. Surely the Remnant would have known as well - if they had any cells to begin with and weren't simply extensions of his will, tools to fulfill his doing. It matters not at all, he has his physical form now and had been delivered to him by the contents of that box. It had to have been, even if he had retreated from Kadaj in the moments before he found himself on that train.
Sephiroth lands well within viewpoint of the seated individual, dismisses his large black wing into a wisp of smoky feathers and slowly approaches. Indeed the Geostigma flies even more of a big sign at him metaphysically as the distance is closed. Other than his indefinable presence there is no other show of ill-intent however, there is no weapon to be seen.]
I was beginning to wonder when you were going to grace us with your presence.
[He comes to a stop more than a respectable distance away from Rufus. Eyes drawn automatically to where he can feel the Geostigma eating away at skin.]
no subject
Oh? Then my arrival here was expected it would seem. I hope I'm not late.
