[Event] Halloween Dance Plotting Post

The days are growing shorter, the nights growing colder, the trees beginning their annual change from lustrous green to a fiery, golden spectrum that is already beginning to tumble leaf by leaf to line the city’s streets. In short, Ruby City, Autumn is upon us once again. And of course, with Autumn comes Halloween-- A holiday that just begs for attention in a place like this. We’ve had our ups and downs around this time of the year in the past, but that’s no reason to fear its approach, right? Right.

As if to confirm this, one of the city’s own residents, The Doctor(gallifreytotrenzalore), has seen fit to put on a celebration-- Costumes encouraged! On the night of Thursday, October 31, the windows of the Black Stallion Saloon will be well-lit with bright orange and purple-shaded candles, a sure sign that there’s entertainment to be found within.

Those who succumb to the temptation these lights present will be met with quite the sight indeed; The tables that usually litter the pub’s floor have been cleared away, opening up a wide space for any who might choose to dance to the soft, ambient music issuing from the weathered old gramophone set atop a nearby table.

Several more tables have been lined up nearby to serve as an impromptu buffet, stacked high with many different foods all encircling a truly massive punchbowl from which an almost irresistibly pleasant scent issues forth; Those who stray too close may find themselves compelled to ladle themselves a nice tall glass of this fruity concoction… And of course, this being Ruby City, that’s where the real fun begins!

The punch, predictably, has been spiked... Whether by the Doctor himself or by one(or more) of his guests, who’s to say? Moreover… Who’s to say it’s only one or the other? On top of being rampantly alcoholic, the punch has a few extra tricks in store for any who partake. Each glass is liable to produce different effects, so drink carefully! ...Or, don’t.

The Potential Effects of the Punch Are As Follows;

Flirtation- The drinker will find themselves suddenly feeling much more extroverted than usual… Specifically, with the distinct urge to get their flirt on! Even total strangers might spontaneously turn out to be the object of their capricious affections, at least until somebody more receptive(or more appealing) comes along.

Roleplaying- The drinker will, no doubt much to their later chagrin, fully take on the persona of whatever their costume portrays! They'll actually be their costume, including pros and cons. For some, of course, this promises to be nothing but sheer entertainment (We’re looking at you, mister “I thought Sailor Moon would be a fun ironic choice”), but for others, it might prove particularly awkward… Especially once the punch’s effects wear off.

Foot in Mouth- You know that little filter, the one that keeps you from just blurting out whatever happens to be on your mind? Well, the drinker of this glass appears to have lost it. Without any control over what makes it from their mind to their mouth, who knows what sort of secrets may be revealed, or what confessions may be made? Oh, blatant fightmongering and romance-fuel. We love you so.

Mood Swings- This glass should have come with some “Caution” tape; The drinker will experience a sudden, unstoppable surge of emotion! What sort of emotion, be it rage, lust, joy, misery, or something else entirely(Or even a cascading set of multiples) is anyone’s guess. Stand clear!

Trickster Mode- The drinker will experience, to start with, a rather extreme change to their color scheme-- Everything from their hair and skin to their clothing is effected, complete with the addition of some cute new food-themed accessories! On top of the change in appearance, the drinker will also enjoy a change in personality; Tricksters are manic, giggly, and hyperactive, acting as though they’re under the influence of some sort of combined inebriation and sugar high. To top it all off, there’s a nasty hangover/cooldown period as the punch begins to wear off… Have fun with that.

(Punch effects can combine, depending on how many times you take a trip up to that bowl! Just use your best judgment when combining effects, not all five are necessary!)


The party will go on until the early hours of the morning, with plenty of time for everybody to get the full effect of the punch’s sundry spikings… Because surely, one glass isn’t going to be enough, right?

Claudia will be attending dressed as a pirate, I guess...! More interestingly than that, though, she'll also be afflicted with the flirtation effect. So... Does anyone want a sweet, saintly lady to hit on them? No? Too bad, because she will be.

(No, but seriously, let me know if you would so I can make a point to tag you.)

Manaka is, naturally, going to be dressed as an angel :V She will not be affected by the punch, so you'll just have to enjoy her trolling around in her right state of mind instead.

The Doctor

Will dress up as a cowboy. Hello there, Stetson, welcome back.♥♥ He'll try and make River like it. Not shoot it again. There is still that hole in it.

Also he will be around, attempting to do host-y stuff and utterly failing at it. Expect lots of weird dancing, too.

Zacharie & Smile

Zacharie is going to be dressed up as Valerie, as done by Japhet (Warning for OFF spoilers, look at his head). He'll end up effected by the roleplaying effect, so if anyone wants to meet a bird/cat thing then let's plot!

Smile is going to wind up dressed up like the Kaibutsu from his world. The 'blood' may shift randomly between their Normal and Hostile faces. I don't have any plans for him punch effect wise so he'll just be creeping around.

Soma Cruz

Soma Cruz will for the better lack of ideas come dressed as Don Juan and will be hit by the Roleplaying effect, so ladies expect to be hit on, and men, expect challenges to duels.

Jane

Gabriel and Adam Young

Gabriel will be going as Hugh Hefner, and is sorely upset that he doesn't have any bunnies. he'll be hit with a serious case of Foot in Mouth.

Adam will be trick or treating with Dog that night! He'll be going as Batman, and he'll have Dog dressed up as Ace. He'll also be 'playing Batman' that night and will play along with anybody that will let him :)

Davesprite

Davesprite will be going ghost. By which I mean, the only thing he could think to do for Halloween was cut some eyeholes in a bedsheet, and now he's going to be invisible, intangible, and juuuust a little bit prankish with the poltergeist and possession powers he'll have. Anyone remember the movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze? Yeah.

So if anyone wants to be haunted by a fourteen-year-old jerkface let me know!

Leah, North Italy, poss. Regulus

Leah is going to get dressed up by Eponine as a 19th century French lady... and will end up under Roleplaying effect at some point during the night.

North Italy is going to be dressed up as a gentleman ghost. He might end up suffering from mood swings, since flirtation and foot in mouth are his normal state of being. Or he might become a real ghost... and be very upset that he is the least scary ghost ever.

I don't know yet if I'll take Regulus, uncertain if I can handle three...

Dirk Strider, England, the Dolorosa, Remus Lupin, Twilight Sparkle

Unsure if I'm going to be taking all five, but if there's interest in CR for any, they will definitely be there :>

Dirk Strider is the one who will 100% definitely be there, because I want to be terrible to him. He will be experiencing the Trickster effect, but there's a slight difference when it comes to Dirk... because Dirk is canonly immune, experiencing none of the candycane high and all of the morning-after hangover. So he'll be looking like this, with bright red hair and yes that can is stuck there don't pull it, and any tags from him will be coming from thisisstupid.

England, no doubt under Alice's behest, will be going to the party. I haven't decided what as yet but possibly a pirate because come on no one plays pirate better than someone who was one for two hundred years (oh sorry privateer), and I may inflict him with foot in mouth syndrome (as if he doesn't have that enough already).

I haven't yet decided on Remus Lupin, The Dolorosa or Twilight Sparkle but I will keep thinking, and if anyone wants them give me a heads up! :>

Labrys and Jason

Labrys cannot feel the effects of the punch, unfortunately. She can't consume things! But she will be at the party, dressed as a princess uvu So feel free to try and sweep her off her feet, like the Prince/Princess Charming your character might see themselves as.

Jason WILL be at the party- though I haven't decided exactly what's going to happen to him yet! Partly because I can't decide what he's going to dress up as and stuff, but also (as a side note), he needs to be convinced to go somehow so that's going to be a thing.

If anyone has ideas, I would love to hear them! :>

Sephiroth doesn't do drinking and he certainly doesn't do costume parties.

But, by all means if he crosses anyones mind while they are under the effects feel free to bug his pocket watch or encounter him perhaps on your stumbling way home - he will spend most of the evening lingering in the streets nearby out of interest of what is going on.

No one wants him there anyway? Right?

i'm on hiatus rn because i'm actually away but i'll be back for halloween so yeh

mikasa doesn't want to dress up as anything, because she's stupid and doesn't think halloween is fun. what a shit. but eren is going to give her a cat ear headband with a complimentary tail on a belt that she will wear because unlike mikasa eren sees the brilliant fun in this thank you eren thank you

she'll be affected by the punch though!!! which will make her nekomimikasa in which she's... mikasa but if you scratch her behind the ear she will purr. and she'll want to cuddle you. thank god there's no laptop keyboards for her to sit on though

petra I HAVE NO IDEAA AA A A a someone make her do things tell her about halloween because she will actually enjoy it and give out candy though not sure about dressing up man (please someone dress her up)!! might have her under the affection of a punch though hoho ho

mikoshiba is coming as a shark. not sure which kind of shark costume, but there will be a shark costume. he won't have any punch though he's fun enough as himself LMFAO........

Xion

Xion is attending as one of the Disney Princesses. (The irony will be lost on her entirely.) The particular princess will be Giselle, which means she'll be wearing that gauzy number complete with flowers in her hair. I kind of want her to have hair extensions... but she doesn't know what those are. Oh, and she'll also be barefoot. Because reasons. (She will think it's very silly and impractical, but what the hey, it's a holiday, right?)

ANYWAY, I'm not currently planning on having her be affected by the punch... though if I do, it will be to have her go Trickster mode or roleplaying. I'm not entirely swayed to either of these options yet. If I went with roleplaying, she'd end up a lot chirpier, and also actual woodland creatures would mysteriously appear and start following her around as she randomly sang songs or something. CONVINCE ME? Otherwise she'll just be her normal self. In a slightly concerned, put-out state because her boyfriend is invisible and she's kind of worried about it, but otherwise fine and normal.

Alice and Morrigan

Alice will be dressed as fall fairy and is going trick or treating. She might swing by the party later though? (IDK yet!)

Morrigan will be dressed as pin up sailor and she might be hit by foot in mouth. I'd say she'd be hit by flirtation but that'd be a normal day for her, let's be honest. XD

EPONINE will be going out dressed as Little Red Riding Hood, to match the upcoming fairy tale theme that Miserable House is doing. She'll be drinking all the drinks, and by that I mean probably just turn her flirting up to 11.

ELIZABETH wants to go, and wants to drink. So she'll drink, I'm not sure what, though. She has no idea what to go as, and I would love love love suggestions.

Chika Funami

Charlotte Will be dressed in her normal clothes -- it's stupid, in her opinion, and if asked she'll reply she's going as what she already is: a witch. I'm going to assume Jonathan will probably force her to wear a pointy hat to make it more obvious. Her punch effect will be flirtation... be warned, though: once she snaps out of it, she' going to be furious. And by furious, I mean violent. :B

Grantaire will be the big bad wolf (aoo) to go with Miserable Fairy Tales and is... usually drunk, so it's not gonna take much to get him to drink several glasses of punch. Probably start out being extra flirty (and lewd) and then later go on to some serious foot and mouth. Ask him about Enjolras, I dare you. Or Eponine for that matter. ALSO KIND OF THINKING ABOUT ROLEPLAY OR TRICKSTER BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL FUN.... :')

Canada will be going as a lumberjack because he's uncreative (and so am I) and probably go into Trickster mode because fuck the rules let's have fun. He's going to be terrible and obnoxious (and possibly a little frightening given his costume) and no that's still not Alfred.
