DEC. TEST DRIVE

G'day, Ruby City!
Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations:
- Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.
- Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?
- The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!
- The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.
- The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.
- The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.
- Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.
Scenarios
- Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.
- Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.
- Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?
- Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!
Have fun, guys!

He slaps his brother on the back. What else can he do.]
no subject
Not he's just not really sure what to do.
He makes a surprised sound somewhere close to a laugh at the slap, just casting a curious glance over at Vergil. Then a slight smile, just a hint of one, easily missed if one were so inclined to want to ignore it.]
I missed you, you know.
no subject
[But then maybe he is too.]
It's going to be used against you.
no subject
[It's served him pretty well so far. Sure maybe he gets a little too attached, and he's a bit easy to manipulate with it, but in the end he's ended up with some very good friends and he wouldn't change that for the world. Besides, the sentimental part is what keeps him doing the right thing.]
Someone needs to be.
[Bit of a teasing smirk. Yeah you play tough Vergil but you let him follow you.]
no subject
[Don't think he doesn't notice that smirk. He scoffs at it.]
What's that look for?
no subject
[He does one of those insufferably mysterious knowing smiles.]
Nothing.
[And he won't change his tune, either.]

they can't last five minutes
it's practically a law
and they were doing so well!
That's exactly why it had to stop
Typical twins
[And in a shimmer, he's gone, complete cheating asshole.]
Never a dull moment?
He follows quickly, drawing his sword.]
Darn right!
He laughs, knowing it won't be long before he catches up but they've already been walking for a while. How about ridiculously dark forest in heavy rain, does that sound like a fun place to play hide and go seek stab tag? Yes, it sounds perfect.]
no subject
It takes longer for him to catch up than it would normally - he's not in peak condition, pretty far from it really, having so recently died and just before that been under control for years. It causes a few problems. But he just pushes himself that much more to make up for it. He can't have Dante thinking he's weak. Either way, soon enough he appears before him - but it would be too easy and boring to go for the shanking just yet.]
no subject
Part of this game was to test that, what kind of shape was Vergil really in? Certainly not his prime, Dante knew, but just how bad off was he? And hell, if there's one way to get him back into tip-top shape it's idiot games out in the worst weather imaginable.
Just when he thinks he's lost him suddenly Vergil's in front of him, and Dante skids to a halt (possibly a little sloppy due to all the mud) but he recovers quickly and makes it look like he absolutely intended to skid like that.]
Now where'd you come from?
[The laziest drawl to ever drawl, your move, Vergil.]
no subject
[He stops as he speaks, to look down at the hem. But of course that wouldn't be his real intention, and he's quite sure Dante sees it coming as he quickly turns back, aiming his blade at his twin's gut.]
no subject
[Of course he does, and he's quick to slide out of the way (just barely because it's more stylish like that). Rebellion is the weapon of choice here, anything else would be inappropriate for their first duel in, how long now? He surges forward after that dodge, aiming a brutal downward slash for him.
The worst insult would be to take it easy on him, regardless of whatever shape he's in. Dante wouldn't disrespect him like that. He may, however, pull his punches just a bit, this isn't a fight to the death after all.]
no subject
Surely you understand, it's my only pride and joy left.
[He pushes back against the blade, grinning. Feels better already, getting back in the fight.]
no subject
Now you're just being dramatic. Besides, mud comes out, and hey I even know a fantastic tailor, she can patch it right back up for you.
[Now that's more like it! He pushes away, using the force of their parry to leap away as he switches stances on the fly. Swordmaster, now that was something he couldn't do as quickly as Vergil likely remembered.
He ducks low, swinging Rebellion behind him as red energy begins to coalesce on the blade, then all at once he swings it forward to unleash the shockwave in Vergil's direction. Think fast!]
no subject
[It's true, dodging at the last second looks cool, definitely the way to go. And really there's no point in using his teleportation too soon, or the attack will just be redirected. So he waits until it's nearly reached him before disappearing, popping up again in midair, readying his sword to strike.]
Alternatively, I'd like to have my amulet back.
no subject
[Okay so she probably won't actually charge if it's for Dante but he's not saying that. He's too broke to pay for anything, anyway. As usual.
Too fast to get out of the way, Dante just swings Rebellion up to act as a shield against the blow. Things were finally starting to warm up, but they were both still in the stretching their muscles stage.
Ah, oh. He's not going to like this.]
About that. Seems the Kidnapper Express didn't feel it important enough to bring along with me.
[If he hadn't left it in Trish's care, he certainly would have given Vergil his half back. Dante's not the sort to try to keep that from him.]
no subject
[Well, now he's angry. That certainly helps Vergil's drive to fight, and it shows when he steps back, only to charge at Dante. There's more force in his upwards swing than the last few have had.]
