[Oh shit what is he--!?

Dante ducks down, bracing for impact from the lightning, only for it to go soaring above his head shattering the archers' shots as they fell. Well, most of them. A few made it through but those landed harmlessly around Dante. He spared Alastor a wary glance before leaping into action, using the narrow alley to his advantage, the walls acting as springboards to reach the roof in no time.

More beams tore through his coat, but mostly missed as he charged in with Rebellion to start cutting the things down.

So that's where they were hiding!]

*By the time the Enigmas fall, Alastor has climbed up to the rooftops and is perching on the edge of one roof with his wings spread. Here he feels more comfortable. He has the advantage of height and enough wind to take to the skies if he feels threatened. But he doesn't take off just yet, instead watching in fascination at the way Dante handles his weapon.*

[Much like an extension of himself, even though the blade is dormant, definitely nothing traditional about his swordplay. This teenager just seemed to do whatever came to mind at the time, and it worked well enough for him. It didn't take long to cut the Enigmas down, he just had to break through their defenses first.

A few scrapes and a lot of bullets later, they're all dealt with and Dante's spinning his sword while he idly scans for another ambush.

Content that it isn't coming he starts to back towards Alastor, still keeping an eye out for other threats instead of the demon he had been treating like a threat.]

...I guess I owe you one.

*He shakes his head, also on the lookout for other threats. He even sniffs the air to see if he can smell something coming.*

[Another uncertain look, but he'll take it. He'd rather not be in debt to a devil, harmless as this one seems to be...]

[So unsure. Alright well, you haven't been so bad so far...]

[And without any proper explanation he's off, bouncing over rooftops. Surely you can keep up with those wings of yours, right?]

*He can keep up fine, soaring over the rooftops with ease and grace that put his clumsy attempts at climbing to shame.*

[Ah, definitely not a land-dweller. Well, you haven't seen anything until you've seen a lightning storm in the desert. And here you thought dry areas were bad.

You just have to wait for monsoon season to really enjoy it is all.]

[You say this like he's met much in the way of variety? That will change before long, of course, but for now he's fairly unversed in demons.]

[Just follow. Although once the buildings run out he's stuck to walking again. He could run, sure, but it's less fun without buildings.]

[Don't say it like he's doing something nice because he's totally not. He's just making up for you saving his hide. And besides, he thought you were going to kill him, too.]

Not far now.

[Past a few ugly warehouses and whatnot, and bam... desolate and ugly. But there's food out there somewhere, you just have to really look for it.]

*He lands and sniffs the air, looking for the scent of anything that could be prey.*

[He looks up at the sky, squinting at the moon, then gives a shrug. He wouldn't know?]

Is it? Well, out in those bluffs I'd imagine there'd be something. Don't ask me what, I don't have any idea.

[But he's just going to sit here and wait for you to do whatever you're going to do, because he's got nothing better to do despite his lies earlier.]

*He sniffs for a few moments longer, then bares his teeth in an excited grin and takes off to the sky and out of sight...*

[He'll just be having a nap for whenever you get back. If you do. Otherwise he's just sleeping in the desert like a weirdo, no big deal.]

*He comes back a while later with a dead mountain lion in his bloody claws. He plops it down on the dry ground, then lightly pokes Dante's side. He might be getting a bit of blood on your coat there, sorry.*

[It's okay he already bled on it earlier. He does nearly jump right out of his skin at being poked though, maybe rampaging around tired him out a little more than he'd like to admit and he was sleeping a bit heavier than normal.]

Woah! Geeze, don't do that.

[Do what? We don't know, but he's scrubbing at his face to try to wake up when he notices wow you came back... with a mountain lion???? You sure pick funny things to eat, dude.]

...Deer's not hardcore enough for you, huh?

[An amused snort. Geeze that's a big kill. Are you going to eat all of that?]

What, really? [Surprised... but he is hungry. What could it hurt? Beats begging.] Ah... thanks, you didn't have to.

[Demons do everything in trades, though it must be strange for Dante to be offering his portion first without asking for anything in return, isn't it?]

*He's making quick work of the skin, too. His claws might be soft still, but they're sharp and he knows what he's doing.*

[He doesn't do it often, but you seemed harmless enough. Enzo gets nothing, because he's greedy and manipulative. And a huge cheat. Besides, someone covering for Dante is a pretty huge deal, especially a demon? Where did this kid come from that isn't instantly out for his blood?]

Alright, I'm just saying it wasn't that big a deal.

[But whatever, he won't argue about a free meal. Doesn't have anything to build a fire with, though. Hm... He does get up to go try to scrounge for some brush or something, maybe he can figure something out.]

*In the meantime, he'll start tearing into the raw meat. He doesn't seem to care that he's getting blood all over his face and hands.*

[...Going to have to teach you some table manners isn't he? He sets about trying to make a fire, using a rock and his sword blade with some dry brush to... not very impressive effect. A few sparks, no good really.]
