Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.


Scenarios


1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

He smiles fondly at her and pats her hand again. "Very well then, let us see what we can find!"

Nadeshiko gave a bright smile and let him lead, dancing along happily at his side, clinging like arm candy, like there wasn't a worse age gap between them than between the Doctor and Rose Tyler....

Even if the age gap was there, who would know it's true extent? Erestor's face is still young, after all. It is only in his eyes that his true age lies. He watches her fondly and with a degree of protectiveness as they explore.

Nadeshiko pointed to one of the buildings as they walked about, exploring. She still kept one arm wrapped around his, and Tamari was floating along side, so as to not become jostled.

"Oh! What's that building for?" she asked, pointing at a somewhat squat two story building, her eyes sparkling like this was a shojo manga.

"Hm, I fear I do not know" Erestor eyes it. The buildings here are all so strange to his eyes as to be often incomprehensible.

"We could go and find out?"

"Sounds like fun," Nadeshiko said brightly. And really, fun was a reason to do anything. After all, that was the reason they started helping Tadase find the Embryo to take over the world.

"Let's go!"

Erestor tips his head in acknowledgement.

"Very well then my ladies."

The building is one of the empty ones, a largeish hall. Perhaps it was once a gymnasium, or a library, but the place is empty now.

She walks around with him, bright Nadeshiko smile in place, but her eyes are darting every which way as she sizes the space up. This... this had potential.

"Mirrors on the wall would make the space look even bigger," she mused. "I saw that when I went to see Yaya's rehearsal one time, and I thought it was a great idea for a practice space."

She let go of his arm, and skipped towards the center of the room, closed her eyes, then began dancing slowly, a traditional dance that her family specialized in. She had no fans, and was in her school uniform, but she moved as though she was in a Kimono, fans in hand.

Erestor watches, and when she is done he bows to her.

"Thank you, Lady Nadeshiko. You dance very well, and accomplished well your goal - I could see the fans that you held not."

[nadenagi]

"And hopefully in creating fictive fans, I created a real one as well?" Nadeshiko asked, flushing slightly as she looked at him. Speaking of fictive, fictive crush was proceeding apace.

Erestor chuckles a little at that. "I think you can safely say that, aye."

He nods. "It was not a style of dance I am familiar with, but it was danced with grace, and with heart. I am honored to be the first here to see you dance."

[nadenagi]

She flushed lightly, looking down at her hands. "Thank you," she murmured.

"Would you like to learn?" Nadeshiko offered, looking up at him through her lashes.

Erestor shakes his head slowly. "I am not one for dancing, I am afraid." He says apologetically.

"A little too clumsy, I think"

"Grace can be learned with work and dedication," Nadeshiko assured him. "I would be willing to help, if you wanted."

Erestor hums doubtfully. "I am not much of one for dancing, Lady Nadeshiko, although I suppose it cannot hurt to try."

[nadenagi]

Nadeshiko smiled brightly at him, and took his hand, backing up, trying to pull him to the center of the room. "Grace is simply a matter of practice and skill. Doing the first gives you the second."

Erestor moves with all the natural grace of the Elves, but his is the patient grace of the hunter, the scout used to being absolutely still, and although he follows her easily enough he looks very doubtful.

"Perhaps so, but I cannot see it."

[nadenagi]

"You need to unlock your heart!" she said brightly. "And your imagination. It is something you can learn, I'm sure of it!"

Once they were in the center of the room, Nadeshiko let go of his hand and took the first pose, facing him. "Face me, and mirror what I do, we'll go slow, get the forms first, then we can work on transitioning between them."

"I don't have much imagination." Erestor says wryly "Or so I have been told many times."

Well - he simply uses his imagination for different purposes.

"Very well." He mimics her positioning.

"Sure you do!" Nadeshiko said happily. Everyone does! Alright, so this is the first form," she said, taking a dancing stance, facing him. Over her shoulder, Temari took the same pose, smiling brightly.

"Not according to my lord's sons, I do not." Wryly, but he copies her "Like so?"

She moved to start fixing his pose carefully with soft touches and firm but gentle hands. "Very close," Nadeshiko said, approvingly. "And whoever disparages the imagination of others clearly fears that they have little of their own."

Erestor grins suddenly, sharp as a knife.

"Oh, never let the twins hear you say that. Full-grown and solemn they are now, but a part of them takes great pride in that they were once Imladris' greatest menaces. They might consider such a statement a challenge"

[nadenagi]

A bright grin from her that suddenly shifts as her eyes and hair clips change.

"A challenge?" she asked, dancing back, suddenly holding a naginata. "Bring it on!"

Instantly wary he backs away, hands raised, muscles coiling to spring away or towards, as need demands.

"Lady Nadeshiko?"
