Directions:

Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.


Scenarios


1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

"Ah" He nods. "A worthy endeavor. The battles of the heart are the harder battles, I think, though not fought with blade or bow. But a wise word can ease much. Amu is your friend, I take it? It sounds as if you are very close."

"My best friend," she said with a small smile. Sadness, longing, and amusement all in her eyes and the twist of her lips. "It near about broke my heart when I had to leave, and I'm afraid I was not a good friend in return. I... could not bear to see her upset, so... I left her a note, instead of telling her I was leaving..." she said softly, the sadness stronger now.

Tamari landed on her shoulder and patted her face with a kimono-covered hand, trying to cheer her up.

"It is always hard to leave" Erestor nods. "I am glad you at least left her a note. Will you have the chance to meet her again? Or at least to write her letters? It would ease her, and you too I think, to have at least some better method of closure."

[nadenagi]

"Before I came here...?" she asked with a shrug. "I'm not sure how I would get back." she stirred her tea thoughtfully. "At least then I knew my brother would be with her in the next few years, and I could get letters, but I've never heard of Ruby City before this, so I am not sure how the post will work."

She smiled warmly and sipped her tea. "Still, I will try. And a whole new place does mean new dances to learn!"

"Getting back will be the difficult part." Erestor nods. "And I suspect you may have to suspend all communication whilst you are here. But something to think about when you return, I suppose. If your brother remains in contact with her, he can, at least, pass your messages on when you return."

"Oh?" He lifts an interested eyebrow. "A dancer?"

She nodded. "It's why I left, to study abroad all the forms of dancing that I can find. Of my brother and I, whoever can better teach more forms shall inherit the dance studio. It always goes to the eldest born, but as we are twins, skill, talent, effort... we will each do our best."

She gave him a broad warm smile. "Really, I love to dance."

"And the studio cannot be shared between you both?" Erestor crooks an eyebrow at her. "It seems to me that would be the fairest solution."

He nods with a small smile. "If dancing is what you love, I hope you find many reasons to dance."

[nadenagi]

"We prefer it this way. There is no animosity or anger," she said with a warm smile, sipping her tea.

"There are always reasons to dance," she said with warmth.

"Well, a little competition never hurt" Erestor allows and nods. "For those whose heart is turned to dance, I am not surprised! Perhaps I will be able to see you dance, one day."

[nadenagi]

"If you have a place, I am always happy to do so," she said with a bright smile.

Erestor smiles at her, a crinkle in his eyes and a small little curl of his lips.

"Not of my own, no, but I am sure I could ask my lady for space."

[nadenagi]

Nadeshiko smiled brightly. "Then let us go. As soon as I figure out how much I owe for the tea and cookies, that is," she said with a happy smile.

"I have been told that this place accepts barter, rather than coin." Erestor observes. "And I must insist that if payment is required you allow me, my ladies."

[nadenagi]

She hesitated then nodded with a warm smile. "Thank you, then."

Erestor speaks briefly to the proprieter and settles accounts before offering Nadeshiko his arm.

"Shall we hie ourselves outside then?"

[nadenagi]

She stood, curtsied, then took his arm, probably looking tiny against his height. She giggled at the formality a bit, Tamari settling on his arm happily.

He smiles a bit more warmly at both of them and escorts them out.

"Have you any place to go?"

No, Nadeshiko, do not fake a crush on him...

"I am still learning this town myself," she said with a small apologetic smile, looking up at him.

looooooool well it would go entirely unnoticed anyway XD

"As am I, in truth. So I suppose we can explore together, if it please you."

Erestor looks down at the both of them and pats the arm in his hand fondly.

ROFL.

She smiled up warmly. "That sounds like a lot of fun!" she said. "Maybe we'll come across a dance studio, or a music shop or something."

Erestor has no time for romance, it is illogical (and then Glorfindel will kiss him)

"Perhaps so!" He nods, eyes crinkling in another smile and leads them out into the town.

At least you know it wouldn't be a REAL crush, lol

She smiled brightly up at him leaning her head against him lightly as they walked.

She moved with all the lightness and grace of a trained dancer who was hyper aware of every placement of her feet.

She moves very gracefully, Erestor notes and is grateful that this child can move so in dance, and not in the deadlier uses of such movements that is common in his world.

"Do you have a preferred for of dance, Nadeshiko?"

[nadenagi]

"I specialize in Japanese stage dancing, but I am learning all that I can," she said happily. "I would love to show you."

[asinglebook]

"I fear I do not know what Japanese stage dancing looks like, so I shall be only too glad to watch you. I wonder where we might find the music and the stage for you."
